Comment:

Paul's class is actually very interesting. In class you may watch a lot of videos or just discuss topics on the subject matter. Out of class is the issue. He throws in many papers and readings for you to do. So if you like interesting classes , but you also like to work harder than necessary then this class is for you.

Comment:

I actually read all of the books and understood the papers and he gave me a B-'s for all of them. I asked other students that didn't read the books how they did and they all got 100's. He didn't even read mine, and he doesn't like me for some reason. Also, assigns 3 page papers weekly. Don't take this class.

Comment:

From the first day, I knew that I should have dropped, but I stuck with it and it was a mistake. He is very rude and doesnt clearly explain what he wants or expects. He also assigns a lot of reading that we dont even end up discussing anyway. The lectures are unorganized and boring, no due dates in syllabus and is bad with email.

Comment:

As much as I love this guy, his class was terrible. If you need this credit and want to take this guy DO NOT TAKE HIS 2 1/2 HOUR CLASS. Was a big mistake. He is very bad with email, doesn't post the HW online, and literally(literally) 50% of the time keeps us 15 min over, which on top of 2 1/2 hours is incredibly aggravating. Besides that, fun guy.

An intro class at a graduate level. He has a thick African accent that is difficult to understand. He assigns pointless readings that benefit no one. He call on you if you don't have your hand up. The essays and assignments he wants are unclear and the rubric is an unorganized list of assignments he picks and chooses from. Not recommended

Paul is an interesting professor. He has a very heavy African accent which makes it difficult to understand at times. He moves quickly in his lectures and seems to ramble on a lot. His syllabus is short and doesn't have all the class info in it. He will also say things that make you cringe and ask how in the world he is a professor. 6.5/10

This professor has no organized syllabus, and no due dates. No specific guidelines on assignments, and will tell you to redo them the day they are due if they're not up to his 'standards.' Must attend class, although his lectures are all over the place and shows at least 8 movies during class. Not worth a college education. Difficult accent.

He is unhelpful & disrespectful to his students. He assigns papers and exams with unclear, ambiguous guidelines and expects students to know what he is looking for. Almost every class is composed of a 30 minute lecture followed by a dated video made in the 90s. Exams are all essays because he "does not believe in multiple choice questions."

Spends most of the time talking at you, his lecturers are not structured and have no notes. Spend a lot of time watching dated videos. Grading criteria/weighing is unclear and ambiguous. Very heavy reading. Most of your grade depends on attendance/participation in in class "discussions". Not a hard class/professor but not a good one either.

I took his Introduction to black culture class and it was a two hour and 30 minute lecture. Needless to say it's one of the most boring and uninteresting lectures I've had the pleasure of attending. Which is sad since attendance is required. He will also get extremely off topic. Assigns 3 page papers like no tomorrow so just be prepared to work

He is intimidating and he has no problem randomly picking on students and having a debate for the entire class period. I really had to put a lot of effort into his class but I feel like I learned a lot as a result. Lectures are a drag and his accent can be hard to understand. Lots of readings and papers.

He is very disrespectful to students, especially non-traditional ones. If you miss class, there is a good chance he'll grill you about why you weren't there. He will make you buy all the text books and actually kicked out students for not having them. Terrible professor but relatively easy class.

Hated this class with a passion. Every class was pointless and you are expected to come every class. Given a test over 10 chapters with no help on what it will be over. No outlines for the 10 page paper either, you are just suppose to do it.

Comment:

He was nice if he liked you. When it came time for the final none of the questions were actually discussed in class. Myself and many of the other kids in my class had to look up the answers online. After taking the class I feel that I didn't learn anything. I wouldn't recommend his class to anyone, he's the worst teacher I've ever had.

He's the kind of guy who will confidently tell you that your opinion is wrong. With that said, he's fairly helpful and friendly. He's unorganized with lessons and with assignments, but as long as you show up and do the work, he'll give you a decent grade.

Stay away if possible. I am a business major looking to fulfill my diversity requirement, he made it more difficult than it needed to be. His lack of respect is evident daily and expects perfection in return. Any answer you give is wrong and you will be called out for it.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. I AM A GOOD STUDENT. This class was the most work of any in my college life. So frustrating. He literally just drops three page papers on you at random. Every assignment is extremely unclear. Does nothing to help students. Thinks he is always correct. Complete joke of a professor.

I am not sure why he is receiving bad comments. He is a great professor and a great man. He is unrganized but always willing to help. He even let me take my final exam and do it at home. All you need to do is show up to his office if you need help.

Very Smart. Simply participate and admit when you do not know something. He is a genuinely nice man and if he starts arguing with you about a topic, be sure to argue back if you believe you are right. He does not give you respect you must earn it and I liked that. If you need help the man is a wealth of knowledge and is always willing.
