I liked him. I didn't know anything AT ALL about programming when I started this class(although, I know a few things about computers) and near the end C++ didn't look like Chinese anymore! It's an easy-A if you actually like the topic. Make sure to read the book. DO NOT WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE TO FINISH PROJECTS! btw a grade above 90% is a 4.0

Bladek is a quiet old man, and his coding style would be sublime if the year was 1995. However, with the creation of many new programming methodologies (agile) and technologies (github), his outdated ways is extremely frustrating, especially if you're docked points for it. That being said, I don't like him, but I respect him greatly.

Terrible professor. I know he's taught this class for a while, but you wouldn't know it by his lectures. Gets lost in his own logic, doesn't explain things well and it feels like he just does everything off the cuff, and he doesn't pull it off.

Paul is a great professor and he has a lot of experience in programming. He is very helpful when you ask him questions, especially in projects. If you are new to programming and considering taking his class, Ask when you don't understand! he will help you until you understand. All of his tests are open everything. But, it is all about the logic.

If you have experience with computers, you'll survive. Some students required extensive reading of the textbook, while others barely cracked it open such as myself. All notes + Book are allowed on the test. You have to actually try in this class. Lectures won't help you. Research, practice at home, and show up for class.

I took six classes with him. He is super helpful but you need to come and ask him during office hour or lab time. Out of six classes I took from him, five were 4.0 and one was 3.9. Midterm and final is hard, but 90% is 4.0, then quiz and project really help the grade up..

Paul is a nice guy but a terrible professor. He doesn't explain Java very well and doesn't use a GUI which makes learning Java for the first time hard. If you have a choice take Niko's class hes an amazing professor. I transferred to another college and got an A in java.

Let's Say: C++ is hard and challenging! The teacher knows the things, but he cannot teach! He's unclear and he just can't translate the content to the students.I did not like his class, and my interest in the class dropped so low after him! i rather have Culevski! Not the best teacher to learn C code with.

let's face it. learning c++ can be tricky. I'm pretty sure bladek is aware of this, as he allows you to resubmit projects and the midterm to gain back partial points. As long as you stay focused and do the work, you should be able to get a passing grade. bladek is nice guy and is often willing to help and answer questions.

Took his C++ classes (all three) and hes a great teacher, I got basically all 4.0's and never really had an issue except when it came to a group project. There were a few people who did nothing and I basically did it completely. The group assessment work showed as such so I got a higher grade than anyone else in the group. Great teacher.

Eager to help and to clarify things if you ask questions. Hes a brilliant guy. Tests and quizzes are tough. They help make you aware of the holes in your knowledge... which is useful if you want to learn, but a bit depressing if you want an A. Start your projects early and ask him for help if you get stuck.

I have taken several computer science classes from various professors. About his class, I took it a year ago. I didn't rate him at that time because I wasn't sure that he was the worst. I was kinda disappointed from his class at that time because I signed up the class to learn programming, especially C++ language; however, he even didn't mention ab

I've had Paul for CS 142/3. He knows his stuff, but he's not a very good teacher. You'll learn more reading documentation, the textbook, or the internet. You really have to teach yourself. If a student does not quickly understand, and asks questions he gets frustrated pretty quick. Ace the projects and quiz and you should do fine.

As a student I can say that he doesn't know how to teach. He doesn't give me enough examples. he doesn't spend enough time to cover topic. but he expect things prom the topic in projects and exam. So, basically, student takes this class must have programming knowledge before take this class, what a nonsense!

I liked the class overall, but I will say his use of lecture time is odd. He will write on the whiteboard about 10x as much as he does code examples. If he were to read this, I wish I could tell him to get the class involved more than just on lab day. He's a great guy, though.

A nice guy, really nice actually. Easily approachable and such. I took Java Programming 1 from him, and if there is ANY advice I can give, do the programming challenges throughout the chapters AND at the end of each chapter (even though they aren't assigned) to familiarize yourself with the syntax and commands. It will help you in the end.
