God he's awful. Changed final to be in-person just because someone cheated on an assignment. The excel assignment is required again, plus he added on an additional one. Also, he claimed because he was frustrated with our performance (his own fault tbh) that tests are going to be the lab and NOT online anymore. Don't take him, you've been warned.

Created so much drama over changing the final to be inclass & couldn't even show up to his own exam. Pathetic. Sends rude & unprofessional emails & class is a waste of time - doesn't align with assignments. He changes assignments because he gets mad at one student. He takes pride in making your life difficult- didn't end up working this time tho ;)

Does not follow the syllabus. Told us from the start of semester that if we dont miss more than 2 class periods we will have the tests at home. Someone cheated on an assignment and he got mad and took the opportunity away from everyone. He said he will NEVER do at home tests or quizzes in future so do yourself a favor and take with someone else.

This professor last minute made the final in class with no formula sheet. the Final average was around 25%. He purposely and knowingly set up this exam for students to fail because he was upset at a couple students and took it out on the rest of the class. The lectures were pointless and the homework was tedious. Do yourself a favor and avoid him.

Very disorganized class. Does not follow the syllabus. Second week of class he made an extra credit assignment mandatory. Added another assignment that wasn't mentioned at all. There also wont be anymore online tests. Take the other professor.

Exams 1,2 100 pnts each Quizzes 13 chapters, 40 pnts each Data analytics benfords law 20 points Monte carlo 20 points The benfords law was listed as optional for our class syllabus then he made it required for a grade. Then also randomly added monte carlo for grade. Projects take lots of time, annoying Split it up into days or you regret.

Doesn't follow his syllabus at all. Changed our extra credit assignments into mandatory assignments that the majority of the class winded up doing poorly on. Instead of trying to help us, he decided to punish the class by making our final exam in class instead of at home like it was supposed to be. Lectures are long, boring, and pointless.

Ha has had at home assignments all semester, then suddenly without warning changed the final to an in-class. He seems frustrated with the students questions about the final exam.

I took Goldwater in 2018, I'm sad to hear that he got rid of the Excel HW honestly. It was definitely hard but if you want to succeed as an accountant, his Excel guidance is PRICELESS. He can be a bit blunt, but he inspired me to really learn Excel/VBA and somehow I even ended up being a Cost Accountant for an international manufacturing company :)

He does not teach you the material required for the course. You will be on your own when it comes to the material. His lectures are pointless to the class, they are however useful for data analytics, even those feel like a waste of time because you don't learn what you're doing. They are really time consuming for the low point value.

I thought this class would be great but then he decided to add 2 extra assignments which are now required but weren't the first day of class. He said if we attend class, participate, and didn't use our phones, our exams and quizzes will be at home. a student in another class was on their phone he took it out on all of us, he made our exam in class.

The worst professor at UCF. If you can avoid taking him do it. He does not teach in class, but expects you to know everything. When he gets upset he takes it out on all of his students. He just rambles on about things that aren't pertinent to homework or the exams. He is condescending and pretentious. Do. Not. Take. Him.

Dr. Goldwater is a character. He seems generally disappointed about his students but also singles out people that do well - kinda embarrassing. He doesn't do practice problems in class, so you basically have to teach yourself the material, which is NOT easy. Lectures are not effective. I was surprised that I did well but I worked hard for it.

Prof. Goldwater is really inspirational. He teaches beyond the course material and helps student prepare for the demand of the job, not just the bookish knowledge. He is hilarious and gives personal background at times. It's difficult to figure out initially, but things will get easier as you start taking his class. Be prepared to self study .

What is the lectures all about? He is useless professor, doesn't teach course material. How to do homework when the material are not taught in class. He also has no TA's. It's total chaos taking his class. He is repeating same thing 100 times

Couple things to mentioned. 1) Interesting class but you gotta learn the material on your own. Things taught in class is good for real life but for good grade. 2) Took him at spring 2019, need a 93 to get A. 3) Final is way much harder than the quizzes. There are 40 questions and for some you need to fill out more than 50 blanks in one problem.

Don't get me wrong, he is a great professor and seems to know cost accounting like the back of his hand, but his lectures are not really relevant to the material you need to know for his weekly quizzes. I have had to teach myself most of the material for the quizzes so far.

Goldwater honestly isn't that bad now that the Excel hw is gone. The only Excel is the Excel project, which is very useful for learning about data analytics. Connect practices and quizzes gradually get harder, but they're open book, so it's ok. Exams are also taken at home.

I was so scared of Goldwater because of his reviews but I figured it was better to take the evil I knew than one I didn't and I am so glad I took him. He recently got ride of his excel curriculum because it was too consuming for him so the class is all connect and very simple. Chegg and Coursehero are very useful to figure out the problems.

Ignore all ratings up to this semester. Goldwater got rid of his Excel curriculum; only Excel is extra credit. Everything is on Connect, the lectures are useless in terms of learning the material the way you need to for the HW but he knows his stuff. 2 tests are online through Connect. Really hard material but new format makes it easy to do well.
