thick accent! You don't really need to pay attention in class. There are three quizzes in the beginning-rather hard in my opinion, but I'd never taken a history class before so it was all new stuff to me. You're mainly graded on three large essays but he's an easy grader. I was expecting a D- in the class and finished with a B somehow. Very comical

Great lecturer. Keeps class fun and interesting. There is a lot of reading, but if you find the material interesting, that wont be a problem. Make use of him as well as TAs to fully understand how he wants essays formatted and the contents he wants in them.

Griffiths is pretty funny while in lecture and will call out some people in class but not embarrassing them. He has an english accent and doesn't use a mic so sometimes its hard to hear. Overall, if you participate in section and write decent papers for the exams you will pass with an A. He also has a lot of chances in class for extra credit.

Fun class but the grading is somewhat tough. There are only 100 total points in the class. Your grade is mostly based on the three exams. He doesn't use a textbook and doesn't give out homework, which was nice until I did not know how to study for the final exam. attendance is mandatory to pass. Cool guy but I wish there were more points possible.

Just show up to lecture, take notes, it's really not that hard. Just writing the essay exams isn't fun (not very bad though). Really funny and laid-back professor.

He is an ok professor. I didn't do so well due to the fact I missed a lot of days. His lectures are very boring and the notes on the slideshows are short. You better understand thick British accents to pick up what he's saying. He is from Liverpool, (very welfare dependent city), so he is against republicans and jokes about them/Trump.

Griffiths is one of my favourite professors, though he is arrogant and teases students. If you take what he says literally you won't like him. He genuinely cares and will go out of his way to help you succeed. His personality isn't for everyone but he teaches the material well, is very knowledgeable, and shares fun relevant stories and trivia.

He is British, and proudly so. His accent is thick, and is hard to understand sometimes. He is very passionate about this subject, and really knows what he is talking about, except the lectures are super boring. Regardless, he is super helpful, and is funny.

Very funny and informational instructor. Doesn't use BlackBoard, so you need to email him or go to his office to see grades. Points are given for attendance so go to class. Uses power points with little information, so write down as many words he says as you can. English accent is tough to understand at first, but eventually you don't even notice.

Griffiths is one of the best and most knowledgable professors I've had at ISU. He meanders a bit and is somewhat hard to follow, but if you do the readings, show up to class and take notes, all will be well. He jokes around a lot, and it may seem like he is attacking you personally, but this is definitely not the case. I recommend him highly.

He knows his stuff , but it can seem like he is not prepared until you realize that he really does not need a single note to talk for hour. Do take notes, do the readings, and do not take his jabs at you seriously. He will give you a hard time, but if you are struggling he will of out of his way to help you.

This is the second class I've taken with him. One of the best professors I've had at ISU. He really knows what he is talking about. He does pick on people sometimes, but it's always in good taste. He takes the time to get to know his students, which wasn't very difficult considering there were 10 people in the class

Paul is fantastic at his craft. The most refreshing thing about his classes is they are not taught in a "normal" way. If you slack off you will get a poor grade. If you are at least making a valid attempt he is very helpful and you will get a respectable grade. Quizes are rough but not impossible.

While I can definitely understand why some people don't like him, I thoroughly enjoyed this class with Paul. He's funny, keeps things interesting, and really knows his stuff. The way he lectures is actually pretty entertaining. That being said, he's a tough grader and can sometimes come off a bit intimidating. Definitely recommend him though.

Love his sense of humor, but it's definitely not for everyone. He really knows his stuff, and does a good job of teaching it. Doesn't return quizzes or papers, so you really don't know what you missed or could stand to work on. That being said, I've had him for two classes, and rec'd an A- in one, B+ in other, and I felt both marks were fair.

He's quite rude towards people and spends about 10-15 minutes of the lecture just joking around or pointing things out in the crowd such as people yawning. His class is very powerpoint heavy, but not boring. The way he opens your mind to western civilization is quite unique, but again, his time wasting/rudeness upset me a bit.

He was terrible, I hated this class. He joked at the students expense, made a student plug the meter for his car, was so disorganized I couldn't take notes, and was very unprepared for lectures. I would not recommend him to an enemy. I couldnt figure out what he wanted for his tests or quizzes even at the end of the semester. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS

Hes' a British guy and he's hiliarious. Lecture is not mandatory but recitation is. Over all he tests of themes and gives you a vary good idea of what they are going to be. His test were fairly easy consiting of just a couple essay questions. Would recommend him for any classes!.
