Awesome professor! He doesn't have office hours, but he will make appointments with you if you e-mail him ahead of time. You do not need to meet up with him to get an A in the class. He literally writes what he wants you to correct on your rough draft, if you make those corrections, you get an A. I would recommend him for anyone taking Expos!

Tough professor, but really pushes you as a writer. Such an amazing man, I would take more classes with him if I could. He will go to all ends to help you brainstorm and encourage your growth as an individual, writer, and college student. You can learn so much beyond this course from this man and I think that's something so vital in college.

America at War: Professor Herman is a great teacher. I'm not too fond of history, but I was able to do very well in his class. He's a lenient grader and always ready to help. Ask him to review your drafts of the final paper because it's worth 60% of your grade. He'll tell exactly what to fix, which saves you a lot time. Definitely recommend him!

355:301 America At War. Great professor that is very helpful, will always have office hours if needed. 60% of grade is a 10-15pg research paper. Lenient grader on everything besides the final draft of research paper. Final draft is reviewed by him and an English Dept. director. Almost got an A but Eng Dept. says low 90s is a B+

Professor Herman is a boss. He is a genius with writing and logical thinking. He is the dean of the graduate school for education.. teaches this class for fun ! He is an awesome English Professor! He grades fairly and hard. I hated writing but with his class I see the importance and the fun of it. if you value the learning experience more than your gpa, he is a great choice. i became a better writer, but he graded so hard. he told me what to fix in order to get an A, i fixed it, and he still gave a B. not very fair grade wise.

Herman is the nicest man ever!!! genuinely cares about the how well his students do. Questions seem pointless at first but he gets you to think outside the box. Expos isn't the terrible nightmare people describe with him...read the essays and follow his comments and you'll get an A.

This was the best teacher I've ever had for a writing course. he is SOOOO EASY!! All of my friends told me expos was really hard, but Mr. Herman made it fun and interesting! I didn't even read the essays half the time and i still got B+'s on all my papers. He's an easy grader and he was seriously my favorite class so far in college and it's Expos!

He was one of the best professors I've had. He is the asst. dean to livingston college and only teaches expos because he likes to. He is very interesting and a fair teacher. He is just all around a really nice guy.
