Although I did learn about software engineering in this class, I would say the class could of been a lot better, and I expected better. The projects were boring. The class soon lost care. Little to no time went into planning out this class, e.g. files missing for 1 of the projects for 3/4 of semester, using other people's slides as his materials

Comment:

Saichek is by far one the best IT/IS profs you can find in CA today. Not only is he knowledgeable and extremely high energy, Bill is the most patient, unbiased instructor at the J.C. level I've met. He works with every student, regardless of their limitation or of politics. My hope is that he will start writing standardized IT/IS text books soon.

Professor Saicheck is an absolute great Instructor. I have had over 5 years of college exp. and he is a one that can motivate and inspire you to achieve great things. He is absolutely knowledgeable. Of the many instructors I have had the pleasure and privilege of being a student, he is one the best. He is a department asset, and can help all.

Excellent instructor. Knows the material inside and out. He prepares you well and grades you fairly. If you pay attention and try in his class you should be prepared to take the certs. Either way don't forget to study before your cert as you do have to pay for them.

Mr. Saichek is very knowledgeable about all things IT. He knows so much he could talk for hours about it! And he does. He said the labs were the most important part of the class, but really they were an afterthought he would tack on at the end of his 4 hour babbling sessions. He also showed us a lot of random videos, and wasted everyone's time.

Since I already had experience in C++, this was an easy A for me. However, you have to realize that if this is ur 1st time coding, it may be hard and feel that you didn't learn anything (that's how i felt when i learnt C++). That's okay b/c that's how it is in the beginning. This prof does great job explaining & gives major break to 1st time coder.

I highly recommend not to take him for Java. He has minimal experience in the subject and tends to not know what he is doing. If you want to actually learn Java programming and do well in the class, you will have to learn the material on your own.

Not enough hands-on learning. All lecture with no lab time. Not good for learning programming. I learned nothing sadly. He needs to allow for much more lab time and hands-on work.

Will knows his stuff. He lectures for four hours with a couple break in between so you better have good concentration otherwise you can fall behind. He prepares you quite well for the A+ exam but you also have to self-teach. I would recommend him.

Comment:

Very good presenter who really understands the subject matter. Moved quickly through material, but would help anyone who didn't understand. He made learning routing concepts and cisco enjoyable. Had experience in what he was lecturing in and could easily help sift through syntax to find any config errors and helped understand what was wrong.

Great professor if you are really interested in learning about IT. I had him for a Net Plus networking course as well as an A+ Certification course. I enjoyed both classes very much and got A's in both courses.

Bill is a great teacher, and really knows his stuff. This is a long class, but its worth 4 units, and if you have any interest in computers, it might be the easiest 4 unit class out there! Although the class is long, Bill makes the class interesting. I highly recommend taking his classes!

Fun class IF you love PC. Easy class IF you know PC. Book required to A class, not required to B class. He super curve the Final since not everyone is PC geek. I C all his test, D his final, end up with B. Long 5 hours class makes your brain dead along the way = learn only half of what he teach. 1 build PC Project. No A+ Cer. Guarantee

absolutely the best, funniest, more prepared computer teacher i have ever had. his teaching skills are excellent. he makes the class fun when he does some espontaneus comments about something. time flies in his classes and really easy to learn his material if you are really interested in the class. highly recommend. a+
