He really is a great teacher. Many people don't care for Dr. Hustoles and most of the time it is because they think they deserve more than he gives them credit for. This is often not the case. Though he tends to play favorites, he is very honest and very helpful. He is extremely smart and knows what he is talking about.

Dr. Hustoles is an individual that like such heroes of the classics allows Hubris to be his greatest downfall. There is no doubt that he is knowledgeable in his chosen field. His classes in general are very difficult. He stated "MNSU might not be Carnegie Hall, but I'm Carnegie Hall", he can be very demanding to work with, but is nice to children.

Three Words: "Wanna Be Actor" Most of my fellow students in theater major HATED HIM..except for the graduate students he favored and cast all the time. Never got over being a nerd growing up..that's his WHOLE powertrip deal ....sick

Dr. Hustoles went the extra mile to help me become a serious student of theatre. he taught me how to work hard and take a stand. His teaching style demands that you challenge yourself and become very clear about what you believe, and why you make the choices you make. He provides many paths to creating an artistic product... changed my life!

Smart man, has historical knowledge. Not good for students. They fear him, a terrible state for young artists. Thinks that theatre can be created through a simple recipe. Has a small amount of understanding of the craft but none of the art. An absolute control freak, but in a one-on-one conversation can be very friendly and amusing.

difficult, intimidating. dr. h scares me, and i'm not someone who gets scared easily. he can come off as cold, and definitely has a superiority complex, but at the end of the day he REALLY knows his stuff. very funny, but ALWAYS has to be the star. Also very good at making you feel stupid. his classes are not for the faint of heart.

Dr. H. is tough but fair. One has to earn their grade, pure and simple. He does have a tendancy to get off topic and adds a lot of political and social satire to his classes. This can become tiresome, but it shows that he is engaging and makes an attempt to keep the students attention.

Creates atmosphere of fear in his students and needs to remain the star of the class all the time. Very little knowledge of how the techniques are actually integrated into performance. Grades artistic performances by a number chart. Go elsewhere.
