Easy class if you get your papers done. Papers arent that bad. Professor Schalows lectures and personality can be very boring. You can nap in class, just get those clicker questions in. Very boring class but gets the job done.

Amazing and easy professor! Definitely need to put in some work but its not as much as other classes. 5-6 clicker questions each class (easy if you do the readings), 7 400 worded response papers (easy graded) and recitations every other week. Take him!

What can I say about this class. lectures are pointless. The response papers are 60% of your grade. TAs are really tough in grading your paper. Withdrawal.

Professor Schalow is a amazing professor. But the thing is that he assigns TAs to grade your seven response papers and his TAs are all tough graders. They grade each response papers extremely harshly and never give any hints or proper grading criteria of the response papers.

What a knowledgeable person! You can hardly find an instructor like him who genuinely loves what he teaches and is always willing to help you. However, I doubt the grading system since he assigns TAs to grade your paper. Overall, 50% interesting and 50% boring.

If you dont come to class you will struggle since there are clickers. Just go to class, do the clickers, and write the response papers which are 400-ish words. There are 0 exams. Very fresh and enjoyable class. The class is 4 credits and recitation meets every other week. He drops lowest scores too for recitation and paper. Final paper was easy.

gea becomes a lot harder than before. You have to work a lot on the papers, and you need to find someone with you who really works on this course. It is hard to get full points on clicker quiz. TAs are tough in grading your paper.

Go to class for the clickers and do well on the response papers and the final research paper to get an A. The great thing is that there are no exams, so take this course if you want an easy A. However, you still need to put a decent amount of time and effort in writing the papers.

boring lectures that you have to go to just for the clicker quizzes that count for 20% of the class grade. very serious about clicking for friends but doesn't really care if you peek at what others have clicked... 6 short papers and a long research paper at the end. very leniently graded if you get a good TA. read the powerpoint and youll do well

Without a doubt, one of the most boring lecturers at Rutgers. I also didn't get the impression he really cared much for the class.

The class is very easy. The only disadvantage is that attendance is mandatory now (clicker quizzes attendance 20% of your grade). The recitation papers are fairly easy if you follow the directions to a T. A kind professor nonetheless, where you could tell he really is passionate about the subject. Still easy A, but little harder than before

He is a very boring lecturer. I only really showed up to the large lecture class for the class code that is needed to input attendance for the attendance grade. Subject matter itself is very interesting but the days I did go to class, I fell asleep. This class is an easy A. There are six 1-2 page discussion papers and one 4-5 research paper.

Papers and recitation every other week. Present ONCE (informal) about your opinion on the present topic. Lecture mandatory, clicker quizzes to determine participation. 4 free absences. Very very dry as a lecturer. Don't have to pay attention because he uploads his slides anyway. Book never touched, summarizes in his slides. No midterm, Final paper

This class is an easy A as long as you know what is expected of you for the discussion sheets which are 60% of your grade. I did not understand what was required on the papers until the last few classes and ended up getting 8/10 on the first few papers. You don't have to be a good writer, although I wish this class still fulfilled the writing req.

This professor is very understanding to the student. He allows extended time in assignments. He is truly a good natured individual. However, the content is interesting, but the lecture is quite boring. He is very nitpicking in assignments and does not give the grading rubric prior to the set assignment. Overall, he is an average professor.

He is SO boring. I only went to class because he has iClicker questions. He drops ~5 of those anyway so there are a few days you don't have to show up in class. Textbook is required, but it's just a small book for about $12. 1.5-2 page essay due every other week in recitation, which is hard NOT to get at least an 8/10 on. Easy but boring.

This was fairly an easy class for me, yet the grading is based on your recitation teacher. Attendance is mandatory since he gives out quizes each lecture which each worth about 0.5% of your grade (NOT 5%). Very straight forward quizes, one essay every two weeks which were graded based on my ideas rather then my grammar.

Interesting material but long lectures. He does take attendance at the end of class so you should go. 3 essay-exams (10pts take home essay 20pts in class x 3 = 90%) and then 10% is your attendance. Overall a very nice prof. who is more than willing to help!
