Peng Chan knows what he is talking about and he is reasonable. Participate when you can and be genuine. Test are VERY hard. Read the book or get crafty with online resources, it's not easy. Group project isn't bad. Requires quite a bit of work but he is a fair grader. It's an hour long presentation followed by an hour of Q&A. You'll be fine.

This was the hardest class I've ever taken. His exams are impossible by the way, do not take him. Group project/presentation was a lot of work, be sure to participate in his class or else you won't pass. He's also very vague about everything which doesn't help. Go to his office hours!!! He's willing to help if you're struggling...

Continued from below. My suggestion.1)participate in class.2) Dont be absent. 3)Discuss presentation/research paper with your group early.4)Listen to his discussion, lectures for the to do and not to do.5)learn from others mistakes.6)Q/A part wont harm your grade at all.7)Treat your professor and teammates with respect.7)read your book 100 times.

1. Test is difficult (wording) reading your book everyday. 2. Presentation is 1 hour long? The n, He did KBbq you on Q/A, but no grading on that, he only wants to open discussions for the class, and give a chance for participation. 3. You may think he is not clear on the research paper. However, actually, he doesnt want to limit your thoughts

Class is split up- first half of the semester is lecture based and the other half is presentations. I honestly did not know how to properly study for his tests. The exams are very difficult. He really shuts you down after you present, he attempts to be constructive but it would have helped if he wasn't so vague when he explained the project.

Exams are impossible. Class is comprised of 2 exams (midterm/final), oral group project (1 hour long with Q&A after), written case project (12 pgs min) both projects were group projects. Get a good group or you WILL struggle. Attendance is mandatory. READ THE BOOK or you won't pass the exams. Best part is that he curves!

Took his class over the summer. Attendance is mandatory, but you can just text or email him if you are ill. Tests were very difficult; he does curve, but if you don't study the practice tests he gives, you won't pass. Group presentation was easy to do; beware of going first because his critiques are harsh.

First of all, this was probably the hardest class I've taken, but Prof. Chan was awesome. There were two tests that were almost impossible, two group projects, and attendance as far as grading's concerned. Takes into account participation. The material is dry, but he does his best to keep lectures interesting. He's very funny! Would take again.

Professor tells you in advance everything he will do and how he will grade. No surprises. The tests are hard weighted at 20% each for mid term and final. One oral group project that is a lot of work and another written project that is not as hard. The lectures are boring but the professor does his best given the content. Get a good group or suffer.

The class is broken up into two halves. 1st is powerpnt lectures which provide instructions on the group projects. 2nd is 6-7 weeks dedicated solely to group presentations (no lecture). He provides crystal clear instructions on what he expects and if you find a good group to work with this class will be a breeze. 2 tests. 1 pres. 1 paper. offers EC

Took him over summer. BEST professor I have ever had. Attendance is mandatory, participation(easy, you volunteer to read an article don't even have to get out of your chair),1 group powerpoint presentation(very clear on his expectations), 2 exams (tough but 100% from book, provides study guides),1 research paper(you pick topic on business strategy)

Right off the bat the class didn't make any sense, his lectures have no correlation to the book or the exams. You have to go to the lecture or else you will fail no matter how good you do on the exams. He will tear your group projects apart. He will not respond to emails no matter how urgent. All he talks about is franchising (completely useless)

Attendance not only mean that you come to class but you also have to sign yourself up for certain activities like article reviews and such for attaining full credit. Tests are insanely difficult with an average test question being 1/3 page long and each test cover a large chunk of the textbook. Be very detailed in your Case and Writing Project.

He is hit and miss. The lectures have little to nothing that is being lectured on. Doesn't provide a study guide for the first test, but will provide one for the final. He rips every group project apart. Barely responds to any emails so if he suggested you do something, he will not re-clarify in a followup email.

Ppl are right. Tests are extremely hard. 2 Projects are alot of work. But you have to do that in any class. I personally enjoyed it. His stories are funny. I failed 1st test and prob a C or lower on 2nd. But he passed me anyways. As long as you come and talk. Let him know you are alive.

Not an easy class but Professor Chan knows his stuff and can explain it really well. The tests are pretty difficult but they're from the textbook so it's a must to read. The projects are sneakily difficult but I thought I was going to get a C overall in the class and ended with a B.. If you go to class you should be fine.

Comes off as nice but pretty sneaky. Unorganized & self-serving. He had everyone buy the wrong textbook! Had everyone scramble to find a client company the 1st wk. Next wk., tells us to drop them! Constantly changes the outline for Capstone project. Constantly changes the requirements for Individual research paper. Want to be in limbo? Take Chan.

Chan doesn't care about the class. His strategy to teaching is "work smarter, not harder". Sadly the student pays by receiving unclear instructions, wasteful work, and uncertainty. Major gripe: Chan did not post grades before school's deadline - class waited over 3 weeks!!! Chan only cares about making his life easy than being a dedicated teacher.

Not a bad teacher, 2 exams (study the text bank u'll be fine) one case presentation( up to 1 hr, following by up to 1hr Q&A), one research paper which is due by the end of the semester, 5% attendance, 10% participation and attendance, don't miss the class he would deduct 5% for each class u miss. The most important part is to have A GOOD TEAM.
