Comment:
He's a terrible professor. He's so monotone, boring, and robotic when speaking in class. His slides are disorganized and he speaks so quickly that you tend to miss important info when taking notes (which he doesn't put on the slides). Lastly, his quizzes are extremely unfair; you can study hard for them and still do poorly. Don't take this class.

He reads off the slides and does not seem interested in the material whatsoever. He gives true and false quizzes every week and it doesn't matter whether you studied for them or not as it will not affect your grade. The exams test useless information that you memorize and regurgitate. He might be an excellent researcher but he is a terrible prof

A terrible professor. He is very monotone, boring, and robotic when speaking in class. His slides are disorganized and he speaks so quickly that you will probably miss important info when taking notes (he doesn't put these on the slides). Lastly, his quizzes are extremely unfair; you can study hard and still do poorly. Don't take this class.

It really did not seem like he had any interest in this course, the students, or anthropology in general. Really dry and wasn't very clear as to what to expect on tests/exams.

Go to class, do your readings, and study for exam, you will do well. The two assignments (especially the first one, all site names were based on Bob Dylan) were really interesting to complete. Exams are straight forward. Interesting lectures.

Worst prof ever! Read the slides outloud and didn't care about the students at all! He didn't even seem to be even remotely interested. He needs to quit teaching

Really nice man, and the marking was pretty easy (but I think they were tough on the final so everyone's marks would drop). Lectures were INCREDIBLY boring, he literally just reads off the slides, which he also posts online. I wanted to major in this but switched to poli sci because I couldn't stand this course.

Very dry material, he struggles to make it interesting. But his notes are clear, exams are straight forward. Push yourself to take notes in class (or do all the readings set) and walk out with an easy A. He marks participation (a.k.a. turn up for class).

Some find the subject boring, but I love it. It's not what we dig up--stones, bones, teeth--but what they represent, the histories we reconstruct that are exciting. And we're not Indiana Jones. We're learning to put puzzle pieces together, toe bone to foot bone, etc. There's no other way to teach that. I enjoyed our Experimental Archaeology lessons.

Since a lot of the material is dry, it was kind of boring. He tried to keep it interesting for the class. I really enjoyed him as a prof. Exams were out of left field if you didn't properly study.

I took Timmins' Arthro 2100, through Distance Studies, in the summer. The prof used WebCT to effectively communicate content, expectations, and grade reasoning. Although 1/2 of the final exam is very detail oriented, its fair in its testing of knowledge. Anthro isn't my major or minor but I enjoyed the class and Timmins proved an excellent prof.

Although course material may seem dry, it was a great foundation for further archaelogy study. Read the book and go to lecture and you'll do great.

i took this course online. he rarely responds to emails and is slooooooow to mark things. the course is just a TON of material to read online, which makes studying for the exam a nightmare, didnt clarify what we should focus on at all. that said, he's a very easy marker and is very nice once he does actually email you.
