Professor Gerstenfeld is very knowledgeable when it comes to Hate Crimes. Her class is based off 2 exams a group project and homework. Do the work you will pass her class. Read the book, her test questions come from her lectures but also the books. Take really good notes in her lectures.

Honestly not the most interesting professor, and i have taken some pretty boring professors; does not help that i took this as a once a week class either but still.. if you do not know anyone in the class i suggest you get to know someone or else you are stuck doing a 15 page essay and presentation on your own.

Great professor for this class. The only homework she gives is online & its super easy, you will get a 100% for sure. Online quizzes are not bad if you study(around 70 multiple choice). No need to buy the actual textbook, you'll have it online. She is very fair on deadlines. There are 3 exams (multiple choice). Easy if you study! Final is optional.

Dr. Gerstenfeld is amazing! She is highly knowledgable and works with students. Pay attention to her in class lectures and you will be fine. Hate Crimes is a very interesting class and I learned a lot from it!

I took this class CJ 3315 Hate Crimes and she is very educated in this topic. She wrote both textbooks and I learned from this class. Very interesting, not a very hard class there is 3 tests, 8 assignments and a group project but you can do it by yourself if you choose too. I got an A and didnt have to take the Final. Take this class with her.

Dr. Gerstenfeld was a great professor! She was very clear on all her lectures and exams. Just go to class, pay attention to her lectures and you should be fine. She required Connect so we had assignments and quizzes which were easy. Would take her again.

I took this course and was not satisfied. She isn't well versed in CJ and I really feel she is just there for a paycheck. Her methods of teaching seems to be geared toward a liberal stance which isn't fair to us who could care less about her politics. Not really a fair grader either.

Overall she is a great teacher. She teaches very well and makes the hour go buy quick. She has a lot of information about her subject. She only gives power points and then a test after she goes every four chapters.Best teacher I have ever had since this is my first year

She is a very informative teacher with alot for you to learn. For Intro to CJ you are given 3 midterms that are semi hard even if you study. The final is optional, you have 1 homework due at the end of the semeter and it is a 3 page paper. I enjoyed her class very much!

AWESOME!!!!!If you're there to learn she is a great teacher with loads of information. She is super easy and lenient on those who choose to come to class and stay attentive. Exams mostly based off lecture, books are back-ups for missed lectures. In my opinion the best criminal justice teacher.

Pretty easy class. She speaks really fast and knows her stuff! So, if you miss a class you're apt to be behind. Tells you everything you need to know for exams on review day, which is also when she hands out take home essays. Only two midterms and the final is optional.

Good interesting teacher. If you're not a fast note taker, then she'll leave you behind. 3 big tests with an optional final. Tests are easy themselves. Read the book and study your notes for an A . Dont read your book and study your notes for a C.

Exams are rather simple and easy; a few easy and fun homework assignments; no quizzes; THRIVES on hate crimes more than anything else; and very clear, helpful, and nice. I recommend this instructor if you want to learn and get an easy A.

If you want a good grade, tow the PC line. She's an ACLU chairperson and Jewish, so 'nuff said. If you even smell of conservatism--or have watched the FOX news channel this year-- she will grade you down. Plus, she has absolutely no experience in CJ or the law- only academic study. How is that going to help prepare us for our future jobs?
