Phyllis is a sweet old lady, she reminds me of Winnie the Pooh because she has a kind of quirky personality. I was an art major in high school so a lot of this class was review for me, and if you're not very talented she appreciates the effort. Try not to be late or miss class because makeups are a annoying, and keep up with the sketchbook.

i have no idea how to get an A in this class. she tells me my work is wonderful, and then gives me a B. She can tell me its not my best work, and gives me a B. I ask her, what can i do to improve my grade? and she says just keep working. well im still working. shes a nice lady and all, but this wasn't a class i enjoy.

If you want to LEARN how to become better at drawing, do not take her. Sits at her desk for a large part of the course and then randomly decides to get up and make pointless comments about your work. Makes you stand at an easel the entire class. Do not ever show up late, for any reason. Also, she can be very moody.

I think she's a little nuts. She doesn't really say anything worth remembering. She is crazy about attendence...I think if I walked in the class 5 min. late because I was in a car accident she'd still have a fit. She also makes you stand all class which can get annoying at 8 and 9 in the morning.

i hate her, personally. as someone who is more talented than the other students, i find that she offers help to everyone else, says nothing to me, then at the end of class says something like "i was thinking during class that you should have done this and it would have been more successful" if im paying $X for this class i should be getting help.

She's a really cool teacher and you'll learn a lot from her. She doesn't give a lot of homework, but she definitely puts a lot of stress on sketchbooks. Do some extra sketchbook work here and there and make sure none of your sketchbook pieces are thrown in to fill up pages and you'll do fine there. She is a stickler with attentance though, I missed a class when I was sick and came the next class still sick enough for her to tell me I looked awful and she was on my case for missing anyway.

she does have nice things to say about every piece and does not give a lot of H.W....but she expects you to be at every class and if you miss she gives you TONS of makeup work and doesnt except excuses and can be mean. expects tons of sketchbook work and grades it hard.

Loved her so much I took her twice Very helpful and lets u know exactly what she wants Very sweet lady w/a slightly quirky persona The best thing's that she doesnt give a final project Only wants to see a portfolio of work throughout the semester Great if you have other crits & exams to worry about

overall a really nice teacher. wouldn't recommend her in the early morning-this class requires concentration. also-must maintain a decent sketchbook. i hear other classes have it far worse, but be warned.lateness is bad and 5 times absent is an F!
