He pretends that he is a tough professor and the best one within the department. Always competes and compares his class average grade with the other professors. I ended up getting a B in the course, but when I took Accounting 2 this semester at ELAC, I realized that I did not have the fundamental knowledge from Accounting 1.

If you are an Accounting major, YOU GOTTA TAKE HIS CLASS! It's not an easy class, tons of work! But I promise you, if you survive, you will become a totally different person! Because of him, I realized how important it is to invest early, how stock market works. He was more of a mentor than a professor. I will remember you forever professor! <3

Ray Chin was the hardest professor I've taken. This man is funny, but he is very strict. Prepare yourself for a sea of handouts. If you have a family, work full-time, study full-time, or simply don't have enough time to dedicate 10-15 hrs/wk on this course.... don't take it! But if you want to learn, he's your best option.

Had the best Accounting meats the real world analogies. Has a lot to offer students if they just listen. He has been teaching Accounting for majority of his life so he knows what he is talking about.

I switched my other accounting professor to Ray Chins class and this professor has become my third favorite professor at LACC. Absolutely recommend to take him if you are a hardworking student. Gives plenty of extra credit and unlimited chances to succeed in this class and pass it with a high grade. Put effort in this class and it will pay off.

If you want to become successful in life take Professor Chin. But, be ready to sacrifice all your time into a comprehensive study of Accounting and Business. He will teach you the secrets of the trade and guide you to new levels in life. Mediocracy is not acceptable, a true gangster professor! Stay till the end, Work Hard! You wont regret it.

If you are an accounting major i would suggest you take him. If you are there to just get an easy grade well forget it & take someone else. Ray is one of the most hard working teachers I've met. He will be there to help you out but only if you are serious. One thing is for certain, YOU WILL NOT HAVE A SOCIAL LIFE. Take him ONLY if you are serious!!

If you are Accounting Major or want to know Accounting, please take Mr. Ray. A lot of work to do if you take his class but its all worth it. I have never seen any enthusiastic teacher like Mr. Ray. He is tough but helpful if you have right attitudes in your study. To be successful : always be prepared (read and do homework before coming to class).

If you are an Accounting major look no further! Ray is the best Accounting teacher you may ever have. I took his class a few years ago and now all my University-level classes are so easy to understand. The class is not hard if you pay attention and do your homework. Ray will push you as hard as he can for as long as you can take it. More emphasis on a willingness to learn rather than our ability to retain information, and provides numerous opportunities to earn extra credit take advantage of it. He is a good guy and a great accounting teacher. The thing about this class is that it will consume all of your time. If you want an A, you probably should not be taking any other hard classes. The tests are tough, and this is not a class for the feint of heart. If you succeed in his class, you will be miles ahead of other accounting students.

Ray is a devoted professor and expects you to be a devoted student. This was the most difficult class ever. TONS of homework and exams are hours long. Class goes into the night. Ray provides snacks and refreshments. Take this class if you want to be light years ahead in acct. After this class you could pass the CPA exam. He is there for you

I would definitely recommend taking this class for all Accounting majors. Ray is an amazing professor. You will learn a lot and be well prepared for your future classes. He makes Accounting so interesting and easy to understand. Tons of extra credit. Be ready to stay late and enjoy the hard work!

I would've gave this professor a chance, but because he kept us 30 mins OVER the schedule time on the FIRST day of class, I dropped it. For 3 hours, he talked about the obvious: how to be a great student. Treat us like adults & don't hold our hands. He wants us to be great accountants, thats nice of him, but please consider that some don't need it

I strongly recommend for international students to take this class. Ask him whatever you don't understand, even a silly question, but he will always be willing to answer. He might tell you " Don't do it if you don't wanna do" but let me tell you " Do it even if you don't wanna do" and it will be eventually paid off.
