Prof. Haidt is one of the best instructors I've had at OSU. She gave me a new appreciation for literature through her hilarious/super informative lectures. She doesn't input grades on Carmen throughout the semester. You'll need to get the textbook she assigns. She takes attendance every class. Only grades were 2 papers, 2 exams, and participation.

Great class, if you like to read and enjoy Spanish culture. There's lot's of reading and pop quizzes that are worth 25% of your overall grade. Don't be scared by the first day. Professor Haidt has a fun personality and keeps the class interesting.

Our class was Don Quixote so tons of reading. She gives really specific pop quizzes so you HAVE to keep up to do well. Quizzes are all short answer & she only gives 15 mins per quiz. Not enough time. The tests are completely short answer and essay so get ready to write. I did not find her approachable or helpful but thankfully our TA was.

She loves Spain. She's very enthusiastic about it. I never knew what my grade was until the end of the semester but I wasn't too concerned. You really don't have to read all that much. You're supposed to but if you just go to class and pay any kind of attention you'll be fine.

Second time I've had her. Tons of reading, but easy to get away with not doing all of it. Class is all discussion about the literature. As mentioned, requires a lot of time out of class, but she is a veryyy easy grader. Grade was made up of attendance/participation, 8 1-page reflections, 1 8-page paper, and the final.

Wow. A tonnnnn of reading. Not a ton of writing. HORRIBLY DISORGANIZED. No real class structure. However, she is super nice, interesting in class, and a super easy grader. With that being said, I would suggest taking another professor for this course. 3 papers (two 4 page, one 5 page research), 2 tests.

Passionate about her work, engaging in class. Haidt loves to help students and wants them to enjoy what they're learning. Readings are interesting and varied. In class discussions are thought-provoking. Very encouraging, helpful, and available. If you have 2 sections to choose from, take hers.

Awesome teacher. Readings were not that exciting, but she explained everything in class and there are no surprises on exams. Extremely open to students ideas and huge on class discussion, but don't worry about being put on the spot. If you go to class its hard not to get a good grade.

Nice lady. As long as you at least read online cliffnotes/sparknotes - she'll explain it all in class. So really, all you need to do is be sure to make it to class and recitation, and you'll get a good grade.

This class is very easy as long as you pay attention in class. She explains the answer for all the pop-quizzes in that days lecture. The TA's provide you with a page by page summary of the entire book of DQ so its easy to follow esp if you fall behind.
