The man is beyond proud, he has zero accountability for what he says. He is not fit to teach or design. He would be good at detailing cars- full time

Funny I was a student when Reinhart was in his prime back in the late 70s. We started with about 25 students in his class and I believe there were 12 at the end. He was about as tough as they come. He was a great designer though, and I was inspired by his passion and his personal work at the time. Love his passion! He raised the bar really high.

Butter is pretty slick, best when when chillin in the fridge, can be spread, and is best on pancakes. Not very clear since butter is usually an opaque yellow but delicious none the less. overall I'd recommend this butter to anyone needing an edible lubricant. 710, 1010 with rice. *Not to be confused but Butters from South Park

When dealing with Butter, expect 100% criticism with 0% of which being constructive. Lives to kill dreams and deter students from the field.

Reinhart Butter is passionate and gifted in design and expects students to be just as dedicated. I grew to know and respect him quite well and credit him with much of my success. I am now Design Director at a Fortune 100 company. Thanks Reinhart!

Those who don't like him is because they cannot take any pressure. He was my major professor 20+ years ago. He really emptied my bucket and refilled it with new insight. I am very grateful for Reinhart and what he did to me. I am a college professor too and now understand why he did what he did. :-)

This man told me at my final senior review that I would never find a job. He shrugged and then said, "It is all water under the bridge." He is condescending and a know-it-all. The day he told me I would never find a job, I vowed that someday I would never treat any students as he treated me. I am now Chair of a Design School. Guess he was wrong.

Comment:
The most arrogant, mean and depressing individual I've ever met. Arrogance is offensive but tolerable if the person is interesting, but Butter isn't. Simon Cowell w/o charm. Learned nothing except self loathing. Told me I lacked the talent to be a designer. I now manage a firm of more than 300 people - 299 more than he ever did! Good riddance

Reinhart Butter is one of the main reasons OSU?s Industrial Design programs has been rated one of the best in the world for over 25 years. He demanded the best and accepted nothing less. For those of us who appreciated his passion and inspiration, he has left an indelible mark.

This professor is worth rating even if I took his class 20+ years ago. He is the most sadistic and condescending person I've ever met. He humiliates students in class and made several seniors breakdown after presentations. He said I didn't have the intelligence to be there! I'm now a college professor and respect my students, thanks to Dr. Butter.

founder of OSU design, he has been here a long time. he is the quintessential german, but has a good sense of humor if you get to know him (which is rare). he is difficult to learn design from, and picks favorites.
