if you take his class you're gonna learn alright, but it's gonna be painful. He goes way too fast, homeworks are long, hard and too many, and so are the exams. In some masochistic kind of way I enjoyed it, bc it's challenging and I learned a lot. Don't like the guy though.

Goes way too fast during lectures. Makes class harder than what it should be. Can't make his mind up on formats for the test, so might say one format and get another on the day of the test.Wouldn't advise you to take him, but if your an unlucky soul make sure you study the homework and go to every class. treats his class like a a 4000 level class

Great guy who expects you to love economics as much as he does or at least take it seriously. Lots of derivatives and can derive formulas in his sleep. All his exams come from lectures and HW.Forget the textbooks and concentrate on the HW. Study group is a must

Comment:
A game theory intermediate eco courses and knowledge of partial derivatives is helpful. Lecture do not follow the assigned books although helpful if you have a weak background in the topics. Exams come from the hmwk. Join a study group or you may be overwhelmed. Lectures: very hard to follow. Prepares you well for grad school. Curves generously.

EXCELLENT PROFESSOR! only on sabbatical at UCSD, too bad he's leaving. the HW take a little time to work through and reading the book definitely helps. However, the tests were pretty easy compared to the HW. The curve also helps.

UCSD- international trade; If you don't remember Micro, you're in big trouble. Alot of what he covers is review from micro, but he doesn't explain it all well and often dislikes questions. DO THE HW- If you understand and can work through it FAST, you're golden... otherwise your grades won't be so hot. Don't wait until the last minute to do the HW

He'll have a condescending air and brush you off, if you're not a favorite. His class was exasperating. His lectures were incomprehensible, the text was useless for the material covered. He didn't understand any of my questions. It was hopeless. I was left with a great grade, no understanding of the material, and a stupidity complex.

Excellent Professor. If you are an eco major, this is the kind of teaching you want. If you are not an eco or related field major an take his class, and feel you are not understanding, it is your own fault for either not knowing the basics or registrering in the class ignoring its nature. So you better stick to your little "bussines" curricula.

Easy professor. 3-4 tests. if you did well in college algebra and can apply that knowledge to basic business concepts youre fine. Study sessions were fairly helpful. His anecdotes are interesting and you will learn microeconomics from a application or real life standpoint which is very helpful.

This class is very BORING. The prof complicates things too much. Stick to the book because the lectures are worthless. He talks down to the class and seems to be stuck-up. He seems to pay attention to the girls. I would NOT take this class.

Good teacher! His tests can be challenging, but If you take notes, and do the homework you will be set. Reading the book is always plus! He curves the mid-terms and gives help to those who need it on the final.

This professor makes material seem more complicated than it really is. Furthermmore, he is arrogant, not helpful (unless you are a pretty girl), makes lame jokes, answers questions in a way to make you feel like an idiot for asking... don't take him.
