Comment:

Even he has no idea what he is talking about. DO NOT TAKE HIM. We ask him "what's on the exam" and he goes "I don't know" meanwhile the test is the next class. He has no sympathy or bone in his body that actually cares about his students. If this guy is your only option try and get a permit to take at a different time or professor, trust me.

I could write pages about the many things wrong with this professor. This class/professor caused serious damage to my mental health. Arrogant, disrespectful, rude, unorganized, insensitive, pretentious, obnoxious person I have ever met. Students reported him, school does not care. Listening to him "teach" each class is unbearable and depressing.

Really bad. Only students that pass exams are the ones that get lucky enough to get seats in the back so that they can use their phones during exams. Worst teacher/ professor I have ever had. DId not learn anything. Waste of money.

You might as well, just study and do it all on your own. Only show up for the exams. It's awful. Maybe take a vacation, start a business, do anything else but take this professor. It's pretty much a death wish. Good luck to everyone who has to take this class.

He teaches as if weve known the material for years and talks down to his students if they dont get it. For example, while going over one of the questions on the exam he said, for the people who didnt get this right you should honestly be embarrassed. If hes your only option for a professor youre better off waiting until next semester.

Within the first half of the semester, all but 4 students in our class failed the first exam, then he called us morons and refused to listen to feedback about it. In addition, half of the class failed the excel spreadsheet homework he gives, IN ADDITION to the 2 or 3 Connect assignments we get each day. Let me put it simply: Do. Not. Take. Him.

It should say a lot by how many people rated him THE SECOND MONTH in the semester. Get ready to teach yourself or get a tutor because he is the worst professor I've ever had. The class average on the first exam was an F, homework average an F. There are extremely bright students in this class. We are not the problem, he is. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!

Asks class if we want to review for test, class asks questions, he goes "well I could could over that but I don't want to - moving onto the next chapter". Then wonders why the class got a 45% average on the first test. - 0/10 would take him again.

He never responds to emails but besides that, he also questioned my class's intelligence by asking us if we were smart enough to be in this course. He's not compassionate at all, which I don't always expect out of my professors, but he really doesn't care if we do well or about who we are. He shows up, "teaches," and vaguely answers our questions

He was extremely rude when we he asked for feedback on how to improve the first quiz. He wasn't listening to anyone's opinion and thought he was right all along. He also shoved a paper in my face to make a point when I had a question about the homework/project that was assigned.

DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO HAVE A DIFFERENT PROFESSOR. I know sometimes you dont have a choice when picking classes especially with the core but honestly you would be better off taking the semester off and taking the core next semester. He wants you to fail purposely makes problems extremely difficult to the point that he doesnt even understand

Avoid if possible. He's smart but not great at teaching the subject and thinks the information is so simple but it's because he's been doing it for 30+ years and doesn't understand it's difficult for beginner college students. You can drop worst test score. NEVER uses Canvas so you really have no idea what your grade is which is beyond annoying.

You will probably pass this class if you do the work. Pray to whatever God you believe in that you have a good group for the homeworks. If you do the work, you will pass. Trust me. Plus, the professor is not that bad. Hes a very strict grader and is a little unorthodox but he is ok. Youre gonna have to put in the work. Dont get discouraged.

This class was not easy and if you want to just coast along and do nothing, you wont pass. I really liked this class and learned more from Dr. Lord than any other professor at MSU. He gives you a chance to revise homework to improve your grade and really, all you need to do is put in the effort and do your best.

Professor Lord is one of the best professors here at MSU. You WILL learn in his class however, get ready to work. This is why a lot of students don't like him, the class is not a handout. If you go to class, pay attention, and ask questions you will be fine. He is a very approachable guy who is always willing to help his students.

The man is extremely intelligent in finance, but doesn't know how to teach it to the class. He expects everyone knows the material at his level. Homeworks are time consuming and difficult & he's a very stingy grader. Expect your hand to fall off during the exams. He does curve to some degree but don't rely on it. I was lucky to have a good group.

Many people say he is so hard and you will definitely fail the class- not true at all. You just have to work for it, unlike any other finance class at MSU. Youll learn more than you will from any other professor, as long as you put the work in. You likely wont get an A but study the handouts specifically and you could get a B or C easy.
