Very good professor! Every test was open notes/graphing calculators. All the exam questions were from his assigned HW's (which were only 3 problems/week). Definitely makes a possibly rough class pretty smooth. Word is he may be retiring after this semester, but if he's still there he's definitely one of the best (for A's at least)

VESLEY IS THE BEST! He allows open notes and calculators for exams. The best part is his exams consist of homework problems, so I would just do the homework walk into the exam copy over my work and be done in 20 minutes. He used homework problems for EVERY test. To make him even easier, he then gave our class a 8% curve. Everyone received A's!

He does give open note tests and quizzes, however they dont help unless you actually know whats going on already. He gives really easy homeworks and quizzes, but then hard tests. not recommended to people who are not good at calc

Speaks kind of softly. Has open notes/textbook/homework tests. He is unclear at times but hes not a bad teacher at all.

Comment:
Borderline incomprehensible. Speaks too quietly, and if you were to write down word for word what he actually says, you wouldn't be able to decipher what he is trying to get across. I think the numbers got the best of him, time to retire.

Open book/notes quizzes and tests. Unannounced lecture quizzes weekly. Tests are fair, but some parts difficult. Dr. Vesley is very willing to help with problems on homework (which are weekly). Course is very interesting, highly recommended. Prof, can be boring at times, but pay attention and you'll learn a lot.

Comment:
Dr. Vesley is a great Calculus professor. He has some problems teaching the vectors portion, but he makes up for it with his open book, open notes tests, and terribly easy lecture quizzes. You will have to attend Monday's lecture and Recitation, but overall I highly recommend him for a difficult course like MTH 241.

His lectures are boring and not very helpful, but they do follow the book so you can teach yourself the material. Quizzes every week in lecture and recitation but they're open book and partner quizzes and generally pretty easy. 3 tests and a final all open book and open note, they are kinda long and hard but not impossible.

Comment:
Not an easy A. Vesley is a good prof, but class structure is a little odd. Can be tested/quizzed on material that's not yet due in homework. Homework is due once a week (online). Not enough practice problems. Vesley is helpful and pleasant, however, and open book/notes/calc is nice.

he's a very good teacher. there is a quiz every week in the lec. and in the recitation. the quizes are not that bad. there are 3 exams and one final. it's open book and it's kind of hard but if you study it's easy. try to do your best in the homework and quizes and the exams. and you will get an easy A take care and have a good one.

really nice and understanding. partner quiz once a week in class and every week in recitation. all homework is online. all tests are open notes/open book but because of this they are usually more challenging and grading is tougher. hard to hear in class so you have to sit up front and really pay attention to understand.

Speaks English. Goes in depth of theory. if you have trouble with theory this class will be very difficult. hard to hear at times. everything is open book/open notes but don't let that fool you. must have very good understanding in order to do well on tests. quizzes 1/wk. rec quiz 1/wk but get 5 prob approx. work on them. 1 is quiz. TA helped alot

Good teacher, kinda boring. Online homeworks help to understand concepts. Tests can be tough, but just study and you'll be fine. He's not as bad as everyone says he is.

Terrible!!!...If you've never taken calc before, don't get this guy. About 70 years old and just stands up in the front of the room and mumbles. About half the class resigned.

Vesley is a bad teacher if you dont have experience in Calc I. (pre-calc is no help). He only teaches theories and expects you to apply them when u take his impossible test. Trust me, get out of his coarse before its too late
