He knows his stuff;however, he does not convey the information in a way you can learn it. The book and internet resources were the most helpful during this class.

He is very passionate about the subject he is teaching. He does get lost in his lectures when he is teaching sometimes, but he is really funny and you are always learning something in his class. Test material strictly from his class notes so it is essential to go to pass the class!! Gives great feedback on what he expects from you.

Horrible. Tests don't coincide with what he's talking about in class and they're so hard he has to give a 20 point curve. Avoid this teacher at all cost.

Dr. Bonner is a nice man but not so great professor. He knows a lot of information and knows biology really well but doesn't know how to teach it very well. Tests are really hard but he does curve them. As long as you get like a 70 with out the curve you should get an A.

Dr. Bonner's class is tough. Be prepared for that. You don't need to go to class since he posts all the lectures online (and you can hear him better this way). The book wasn't beneficial to me because he contradicts it, a lot. Tests are curved hardcore. Wouldn't recommend Dr. Bonner's class because it is so hard. He is a nice guy though.

I recommend his online summer class. Many students who take his in class lecture have such a difficult time. But if you take his online bio class without other classes as a distraction, read the txtbook chapters before the exams, study his lecture material, & use the txtbook as a supplemental on exams, you will get at least a B. Very understanding

Bonner is a quiet, monotoned lecturer and it is really hard to stay awake in his class. He's a really tough homeworktest grader. Homework assignments in his class are essay questions when other Biology professors use MasteringBio or something more helpful as their homework assignments. He doesn't make learning interesting and seems bored himself.

He speaks in a quiet and somewhat monotone voice throughout his lectures. With a class the size of about 250 students only about 50 attend class regularly, because he puts everything online and his note are pretty detailed. His tests are very difficult, but he does curve them like crazy. But, even with the curve, test grades still average DC.

He is a super nice guy, however, his teaching style just isn't one that you'll want! He talks very quietly and tends to spin in circles so at the end of the lecture, you're like, wait: what did I just learn? He gives HUGE curves on tests (for example, our first exam had 20 pt curve) but his exams are so hard, you can do bad even with that!

It seems you must truly learn the concepts to succeed in this course rather than use of simple memorization. Bonner speaks in a low monotonous tone that will make you want to ripe your eyelashes out one by one. Nice guy though, and he definitely knows what he's talking about.

Dr. Bonner is great. However, his class is difficult, simple memorization won't get you through histo lecture. Don't be afraid to ask questions and when you don't understand his answer don't be afraid to ask more lol. Don't be discouraged by low exam scores as the class is curved (I had roughly a D average on exams and ended the course with an A).

Going into this class I was terrified from things I have heard. However, I actually really enjoyed the class. If you pay attention and read his notes, you will do absolutely fine! Every test is curved, so if you get at least a C you will more than likely get an A. Attendance is not taken, but I recommend going. Also, the text book is not needed.

I took this class online during the summer. Anyone who is considering this should realize the time commitment. It was a 6-week class with half a textbook covered. Needless to say it took a lot of reading. Bonner's test are extremely difficult, however reading the book then the class notes helped. I ended up with an A thanks to a 5 point curve.

I have gotten A's in all of the science classes at UK (Organic1&2, Calc Physics 1&2, Physical Chem etc.). I have never taken a test that is as confusing as his. His questions are so abstract you really don't know what they are asking. His notes are inconsistent with the book and can even contradict it. No A for me. The material-easy, tests-are NOT

Newsflash, bio 152 isn't easy, and when considering it is a pre-med requisite, it shouldn't be. Personally, I found the course very doable and will probably receive and A. The prof also teaches Graduate level, so he has a wealth of useful, accurate info. You may want to revamp your study habits for this class/prof. Put forth effort, & you'll be ok.

People obviously didn't put a lot of effort into his class. He requires to think outside the box and apply the concepts. Study the book and his lecture notes and you can get an A. Just average a 70 raw score on the exams and you will get an A
