Prof. Bertin is a really great Professor! He is not a stats professor but he still does a really good job teaching the material. The tests are VERY difficult but if you study and put effort into the homework you can do very well.

Best teacher I have had so far at Holy Cross, amazing lecturer, is super accessible outside of class. Really cares about his students. I am looking forward to taking more of his classes in the future.

Professor Bertin has been my favorite Biology professor I've had at Holy Cross. He's very accessible. Extremely fair grader. Don't expect an A, but if you deserve one you will get it (which is more a product of the courses he teaches than anything else). I've taken 3 of his classes and enjoyed all of them; and yes, that includes 163.

I really liked this class, and Professor Bertin made it enjoyable. This is not his speciality but he does a good job of teaching the material. The tests are long (3 hours) but they are open notes. Hard class but very useful! Learned a lot.

Professor Bertin acknowledged that this class was for non-majors and tried to make science as non-intimidating as possible. As long as you put in the effort, he was really helpful and gave good feedback. He did a good job of covering tougher topics multiple times so that you knew what you were talking about once the exam came around.

Probably my favorite professor in the department. His lecturing is unbelievably clear and interesting the whole way through. A lecture on evolution by Bertin is like a sax solo by Dave Brubeck, fluid and mesmerizing. Tests were pretty difficult, be prepared to answer questions that aren't very straightforward.

This class was incredibly difficult, yet it was a tough subject to teach. The professor does not write enough on the board. Overall I learned a lot from this professor, yet I would not take him again, since his tests are to hard and I feel that the class was more work then it should have been. Yet this class is very very useful!

Love this man. He is very willing to help and if you go to office hours it will help your grade. His tests are VERY hard which is frustrating but mostly the tests are on his lectures. I would recommend him to anyone just be ready to study hard.

Professor Bertin keeps students interested in what he's teaching (zoology for me). He puts something in for everyone (who is a science major). Good humored. Tests were ridiculously hard however. You thought you were going to do well, because you seemed to understand it, and would get a C. Study hard for this professor.

I had Prof. Bertin for the Environmental Science seminar. His lectures are really clear and everything on the test comes from lecture notes. Tests seem easy but he's a hard grader and wants a lot of detail. He's a really nice guy and is fair and helpful.

His lectures are very clear, though they won't make you interested in invertebrate zoology if you didn't like it before. Very helpful. Tests can be hard and are based mostly on notes. Bio 132 tends to weed out Bio majors, but don't be discouraged because other Bio topics are more interesting.

STUDY YOUR LECTURE NOTES!!! He is a really nice guy, but his tests are REALLY hard. I had so much trouble with his multiple choice questions (10 per test, worth 4 points each). In two exams, I got 32 points out of 80 on the multiple choice. Yeah..
