He was okay very through and gave like a bazillion examples for every concept but the only grades you got were the test which were riddled with trick questions. But hes retiring now so it really doenst matter

He is a GREAT teacher. He does many examples in class and works straight from the book. His tests are difficult, this is a class you definitely have to study in depth for. He's available if you need help. Too bad this is his last semester teaching.

This Professor is so hard...At the end of the semester there were only about 8 students left. Do not take his Final Exam...I took it at the test center, and it was totally different from what we had study... Try to get another teacher if possible.

Comment:

People who think this class is hard are the ones who had a hard time passing high school chemistry. Dr. Buckley may be a bit country but he knows his chemistry and teaches well. Tests are not difficult to prep for, old tests with same problem types are published on his site and pulls concepts specifically highlighted in the book.

Keep away from him, he likes to take points off and on the final, will wait till he says to put ur pens down and whoever writes after that will be taken points off. If you care for your grade, keep away. If you care for your understanding, same thing.

Dr. Buckley is a decent teacher, but his exams are VERY difficult. The questions are completely different than the homework, and he revels in student failure. Chemistry is difficult, and he only goes over one example per section during class. There is no review or quizzes to help with the material. I bust my butt studying, and I only do okay.

No surprises on the tests, everything you've gone over before. Does a lot of examples on the math parts, and honestly not overly hard. His grading scale is easy but no curve because of it. I made a ton of stupid errors on the tests and still ended up with A's on all of them but one(high B). Will be taking him for 1045.

This guy is a total waste of time. I dont know who wrote the last 3 comments, but they must be crazy... This professor expects students to be chemists. He does ONE example of a problem, if you're lucky, and then puts 20 different ways to do them on test. We had 35 people, and now all but 10 have dropped due to his horrible teaching style, :( :(

He's so easy. Sometimes you'll be entertained by his smiles ^_^ Just try to do and understand the problems he solved in class again before taking test, and you'll do fine on tests. if you try some of his suggested exercises, you'll get A's on all tests. His grading scale is fair too; 80% is A. Minifinal replaces lowest test score. I recommend him.

Somewhat difficult teacher. Very good supplemental teacher, very helpful if you read material before class. Will point you in the right direction but not take you by hand. Hint-Do all excercises HE suggests and that THE BOOK suggests and you should get an A/B.

One of the worst teacher I've ever attend class to. He doesn't explain well in detail and speeds up everything when it is time for a test. Won't explain why he took off points for a test when you answered the question wrong. don't take this teacher. He is very smart but he expects everyone to be at his level when he teaches.

first of all, this professor will run first two chapters very slow then later on he'll get behind on the course ,so he will fly like jet plane. no one can understand while he is talking means he 's got chemistry terminology a lot in his lecture. he's exessively terrible. i would never recommend.
