Deutsch really needs to retire. To be quite honest, I really disliked his lecturing style and found it was more helpful to know the readings inside and out rather than listening to him ramble on. The textbook is quite interesting though!

Tests were very fair. He seems to genuinely care about helping his students do well. Study the material and you will get the grade you desire. He can get lost in his examples and silly scenarios, but it lightens up the material a bit and does often help clarify concepts and ideas. Overall, great prof.

took the summer course. lectures may be slow to some but i like that he takes time to provide applicable examples to theories to help with understanding (although he overdoes it at times) this is one of those courses where if you study you'll do well. read the text! he lovesss his coffee haha!

he's quite silly and throws corny jokes that still manages to make some students giggle. the first two classes were hard for me to adjust to his teaching style but now that i am use to it he's not bad at all. MUST read text, tests are 60%text 40%lecture. i like how he gives real life examples but sometimes overdoes it. overall i liked him :)

Interesting and intelligent professor, but his lectures are major snorefests. He does show a video every now and then... other than that, he's average.

Prof. Deutsch is a very nice prof., very knowledgeable and engaging sometimes but he likes to use way too many examples that slow down the class and bore a lot of students especially at 8:30am. His first exam was fair but the last one was worth 55%, read the textbook thoroughly.

He must be related to Freud somehow, for they share two major characteristics; a preoccupation with sex, and the view that females are somehow lesser than males. If you want to hear about sex - his lectures will suffice. Can you believe he even said, "expensive women"? That is a DIRECT quote. The context does not excuse it, either.

Deutsch-bag is more like it. He's not very helpful at all - he'd much rather hear himself talk than any student talk. When asked about something out of curiosity, he'd rather turn it over to the TAs, instead of listening to someone else speak. His lectures are pretty informative and entertaining, though.

A great lecturer! One of my favorite classes at York (even though I'm in Fine Arts). He has a wealth of not only knowledge but also of personal experience. The outdated films cracked me up. He is also a very talented individual (writes sound system reviews and performs in musicals).

What can I say? A prof who gives out too much EXAMPLES than just the concepts that we should learn. Even though his talk goes on and on, he do know what he needs to teach, and honestly without the babbling of too much examples, he's just a fine professor. Concentrate when he is NOT giving examples, and only the concepts.

Honestly DO NOT take this class. This prof is so stuck in the 80s for his teaching styles.Multiple choice tests are extremely confusing and tricky.Shows no sympathy towards any of his students. The TA's for this course are the same, offer no help.Goes off on tangents in ALL of his lectures!Steer clear

Fall/Winter-He drag on just to fill the alloted time.He did not meet the students' learning needs, judging from the bad grades.Multiple Choice questions were worded and designed to provoke confusion.I do not recommend his class.

What Can I say about this prof that hasn't been said already. Personaly in my opinion, Dr. Deutch should leave the teaching to someone who CAN teach, and stick to doing research. Just because you have a PhD, doesn't mean you can TEACH. Dr.Deutch you should read the book the Skillfull teacher.

HORRIBLE professor. Exams are intended to "trick people. Don't take the course if you can help it - it's not worth the frustration. Worst psych proff ever. Thanks for the lower GPA.
