This guy's so low-key the doctor probably can't get a blood pressure reading. I got aggravated when I'd wake up at the end of class and find drool on my shirt. That said he was extremely helpful, kind, and really wanted students to do well. Didn't like being interrupted for questions though, he seemed to think it meant you were asleep or something.

You won't like him if you're not FIN major. Most of the class sleeps because he explains in a monotonous voice. He also talks quietly and sometimes you can't read what he writes on the board, but he thinks you're not paying attention if you ask what it is. I learned more from reading the book for hours than his class. Its the only way I did well.

If you're not a finance major, you're probably not going to like Monroe's class. If you ARE a finance major, his real world examples are awesome. His voice is kind of monotone, but he has his own sense of humor. Great guy.

I hated this class expecially at 9 in the morning. Half of my class slept through the whole class. I came out of there knowing less about fin than i did going in. I did not learn 1 thing in his class. I did better on his quizzes if i did not study. His quizzes and exames did not come from the book or lectures. STAY AWAY FROM HIS CLASS.

A lot of material to cram into 7 weeks, but it wasn't too bad for the first semester in the condensed format. Dr. Monroe is knowledgable and easy to understand; old tests and class notes are made available and very helpful.

It's not Dr. Monroe's fault that he teaches the most boring, and possibly difficult, subject offered at TU. He is a wonderful instructor and an extremely caring and nice man. He is very fair in his grading as well. I loved Dr. Monroe!

Comment:

Bring a cup of coffee or have a friend slap you every few minutes to keep you awake. His voice will lull you to sleep, then you'll dream of finance. Take advantage of the office hours, and make sure you come to class.
