I havent taken a math class in years and Im not an analytical thinker so the material was challenging. Dr. Swennicke is relaxed, approachable& explains the material clearly. When I struggled with a quiz, I appreciated that he offered to stay after class so I could do my best. He cares for his students, is willing to help and crazy intelligent.

To be clear, he is a great teacher. By taking him you will learn the material, but that doesnt mean youll pass his class. He teaches as though this is a Berkeley math course. He expects all of your time and energy to be devoted to his, and only his class.

Great professor, really wants you to succeed and his love for math makes the class interesting. I liked whenever he gave trivial facts about the history of math. Homework is optional but you should definitely do the work if you want to pass the next day's quizzes. There are daily quizzes, 4/5 major tests, and a cumulative final.

Great teacher! My first calculus class at Cuesta but he made it super fun and interesting. I love math so I loved his class and lectures as he talks about higher calc and its applications. DO HW! Group quizzes help a lot! Exams are hard but doable. Very helpful, intelligent and funny teacher. Go to his office hours! Take him! No graphing calc used

I could see him being a really awesome teacher for higher level math, but he has really flopped in the Math 128 class. No one understands what we're doing (not an exaggeration) and when asked a question he goes totally off topic and leaves students even more confused. I don't suggest taking him for maths in the 100s.

Schwennicke is amazing. He always had great answers to any questions, and is clear in his lectures. Attendance is mandatory because you are quizzed every day.

Don't let his smart, friendly personality and great ability to hold a conversation fool you - he grades with an iron fist. A small mistake get docked 8 points. His exams and quizzes are way, way more difficult than other Cuesta teachers for this same class. You take his class only if the other teachers at Cuesta ran out of room in theirs.

He's a great math professor, definitely one of the best I've had. He's not that into calculators, but it's actually in your favor since the numbers he gives you are nice. I definitely recommend him for calculus classes

Best professor I've ever had. Energetic, witty, helpful, and so, so smart. Took him for calculus I, II, and I, as well as linear analysis. If there were more math classes, I would have taken him. If you have the option to take Schwennicke, don't miss it!

Robert is a fantastic teacher! he adds a visual side to calculus that i feel few teachers can match. I had pretty good teachers for calc 1 and 2 who were easier but i learned much more from this professor. if you take your education seriously and expect to work to learn then he is great. Very willing and happy to help with tough problems!!

Great professor. Tests are hard and frequent, but he'll tell you almost exactly what he wants from you and what will be on them. If you study what he tells you to you can be guaranteed an A or B on them. The homework is almost exactly what is on the test, if you don't do it you're only hurting yourself. His office hours were plentiful and useful.

He likes to challenge his students way too much. I had to retake this class because I ended up withdrawing from his class. He's a tough grader and his exams are very difficult. Before you ask him questions, really prepare yourself because if you don't know exactly what you're asking, he's not gonna be helpful, and he doesn't try to understand you.

Quizzes were VERY difficult, and exams were slightly less diffcult. There are only a few problems on the tests, but each one is worth soooo many points. In other words, missing just one problem will doom you. His lectures are only starters, I always had to go repeatedly to office hours and spent 6 hours of studying for every one hour of lecture.

I LOVED Schwennicke! Taken a couple of his classes, love his teaching style. I will admit hard class to pass but it's because he makes you work for it! Always available to talk to students and if he sees that you really are putting in the effort and still struggling, he will do whatever he can to help. He still says hi when he sees me on campus.

265A was difficult with Schwennicke. He constantly went off subject talking about higher level math that no one understood. TIPS: Homework was necessary, all problems (HW, Class, or quiz) were fair game for tests. STUDY EVERYTHING and GO TO CLASS. I got an A but I really had to work for it. He is super helpful in office hours.

He's a great guy and super smart, which causes issues during lectures. At times he goes off onto other topics and explains it in a way only he understands. Tests were TOUGH. He gives all his quizzes as group quizzes, which is nice. I took the 50 min MTWRF class so calc was my life during this semester. If you want a challenge, take this class.

Not an easy course, but this professor is right by your side if you ask for help. The best way to describe his teaching style I think is "tough love". He expects his students to be mature and decide for themselves if they are going to participatestudyask for help.

He's the only one who totally follows what he's saying. He gives no credit for homework, so your entire grade is based on tests and quizzes. Those assessments rarely include problems that correlate to in-class or homework examples, so studying for his tests is very difficult. Only a very small handful of students earn an A. 25% of his students drop
