I wouldn't recommend doing this to yourself for CS 351. Mainly because the only languages that she decided to teach were LISP and Prolog. Aside from that it was just a lot of facts that we'll all mostly forget over the break. A very inconsistently tough grader. Often criticizes student questions. The actual material wasn't hard but she was scary.

Promotes a terrible learning environment. Reads off slides. Tests are no where near what was taught in class. Don't make the same mistake I did by taking this course with her! I recommend Professor Jiang for 351.

No partial credit even if you answer the question correctly but include something which may be interpreted as incorrect. Doesn't teach the subject in an easily understood manner and doesn't welcome questions from students in class.

Forget that what you learn will matter, or will make sense. As long as you give her what she wants, the way she wants it, then you're already ahead of the game. Go to office hours and ask questions, it helps if she likes you. She can be salty at times, don't take it personally. 2 tests, a final, 2 small projects. Don't miss class, she will know.

Two project which are tough, but start early and it shouldn't be a problem. Two exams that are hard. Quiz about once every 2-3 weeks. Come to lecture, read the book, and study early and the class won't be nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Guillen is notorious for being difficult to ask questions to during class which was true again. OFFICE

You will have to work hard to get an A in this class. She does not baby her students at all. If you study to the point of really understanding the material, there is no reason you shouldn't earn an A. 3 exams, all pretty tough. Some written HW & programming, not bad at all. Quizzes were the worst for me. She announces everything well ahead of time.

Unclear expectations. Insists that she's correct after making obvious mistakes on the board. Refuses to answer student questions. Expects students to somehow know whether errors on tests are typos or part of the problem.

She misgrades exams. You memorize a proof from her ppt, put it down on an exam then get it wrong because her ppt is incorrect. She then says it's our responsibility as adults/students to verify her ppts for correctness. When asked to go over problems, she was literally incapable of fully completing a single problem in 421's 3rd exam.

Horrible Professor! Do NOT take any class that she teaches-trust me. Zero feedback. You can feel the contempt for her students in her communications. Her video lectures are worthless and timed online tests are tough. No consistency to her grading. The syllabus is a joke! She should NOT be teaching.

Grades inconsistently. Two students can turn in the same thing and get completely different grades. Not clear on what needs to be done on assignments. She did curve the grade at the end of the semester, but never told the students that she was going to.

She is just going through the motions, offering subpar instruction. She is vague, but not in a way that promotes critical thinking. There isn't enough information for you to do your assignments, you will constantly have to email her for clarification. She has a tired and "over it" attitude. If she were a chef I doubt she could boil water. DONT TAKE

She is honestly the worse teacher ever. Shuts you down when you ask questions, makes you feel stupid, and has no interest in students. I don't know why she teaches. Her tests are terrible. They make no sense and when you ask her to clarify she just just sends you back to your seat. DO NOT TAKE HER. I rather switch majors than take her again.

This class is hard. I bet in her personal life she's really nice, but this class is no joke. You do more complicated things in lab than the lectured tests. Concepts are confusing coming from someone who doesn't know anything about programming; I feel like if I take it again, I'd understand it better. Labs are frustrating! You've been warned.

After reading the past comments, perhaps she has loosened up a little this semester; she wasn't mean to us. The material was pretty daunting at first, as she can harshly grade your quiz/exam if you make minor errors. The two projects in this class were very easy if you're a decent coder (you're given a month, don't put it off!). Overall, not bad.

Plenty of homework assignments, 2 exams, and a cumulative final. You will need to work to get an A. Programming requires extra attention to every detail. Her tone may seem brusque, but do not take it personal. She wants you to learn and she will teach you.

Terrible teacher. Took 50% of my points because i missed one symbol, but had the correct answer. Tests are ridiculously hard, doesn't care about student when they ask for help. Said she was busy and took off right after class.

Not clear at all, most of the time not only no one had any idea what she is talking about, I felt she doesn't know what she is talking about either! Although her material is pretty simple this class gets super boring and complicated. 20 minutes through the class everyone starts yawning right after each other...
