Ron is THE BEST teacher i know, hands down. UTC is truly lucky to have him. He is extremely thoughtful and will go out of his way to help you. The one-on-one discussions about your work is where I learned the most. The 2 essays he has you read are MIND BLOWING, so read them! This is the best class i've taken at UTC.TAKE RON!!!!!!!!!

Taking this class with Ron was a watershed moment in my development as an artist. Ron is without question the most intelligent and well-read human being I am currently aware of. His essays are TOUGH! so come to class as often as possible and take notes. And talk to him! LOTS! He will make you smarter with every conversation.

Extremely helpful. A word to the wise though... Read the book and go over and memorize the slides. They will be on the exam. He tells you what slides and sections to go over ahead of time, but be sure to do it.... You'll need all the study time you can get.

I had Ron for Painting 1 and I cant describe how amazing it was. I developed so much as an artist just from his ideology of the painted surface. He isnt always clear, but I believe he has reason in his unclear directions. That being his desire for you to develop your ideas....and ultimatly as an artist. Take him!
