If you like baseball, this will be the best class you ever take in your life. I loved every minute. If you don't like baseball, it doesn't matter because it's an easy A even if you're not a strong speaker. Take this class, I promise you won't regret it. Don't buy the textbook, you'll never use it.

Comment:

I went to 15% of the classes (caused one judgmental girl to give dirty looks LOL). It's an easy Honors class (attendance isn't required, so let the girls judge you) with one midterm and five easy speeches. Pappas loved me because i loved baseball and killed speeches. Wrote speeches the morning of and got As. Easy class for MCAT semester.

Really awesome professor. Super nice and easy grader. Class got a little boring sometimes but I learned a lot of interesting things about baseball with him. Probably one of the most interesting classes I've taken so far.

Pappas is an older gentleman who has a passion not just for baseball, but for speaking as well. You'll become a better public speaker if you listen to his critiques. He emails them to you about a week after you give your speech. They're very detailed and will help you do better on your next one! If you love baseball, this is a must-take class.

I had the Talking Baseball special topic. Great class! Hardly learned a damn thing about actual communication but learn A TON about baseball. Makes the class an easy A, he gives everyone A's regardless of performance. Just a fun class, so if you can get the TALKING BASEBALL special topic, take it.

Pappas is incredible. He is very thorough and definitely knows and loves what he does. He is not intimidating and creates a comfortable environment for public speaking, especially for new speakers. Love this class. If you do what he tells you and take his advice, you will sail through this class!

A great teacher that is passionate about speaking. Stresses it's importance but doesn't make a huge deal about it and freak you out. I hate public speaking and really enjoyed this class. I feel like it made me a better speaker. You're allowed to do speeches on whatever you choose - a lot of freedom there.

Comment:

A fine example of a teacher who truly enjoys teaching his subject. He is a grandfather figure who wants his students to do well and is very clear. You need to work hard NOT to get an A or B in the class. You can talk about anything that you want to as long as it fufills the guidelines he set up. I will miss him as well as his class next semester!

He is such a great Proffesor! You get a take home final and you have one midterm and a few speeches. He is not picky at all. You just have to make somewhat of an effort on your speech and your guaranteed an A! Great Guy :)
