Best professor in the philosophy department. Very knowledgeable and willing to help. If you actually do the reading and show up to class then you should do well.

This Professor is the hardest I have ever had. He doesn't seem to care about the students and grades incredibly hard. I have never gotten this low of grades in any of my classes. I truly think he plays favorites and actually dislikes me. AVOID at all costs because he is one of the worst Professors I have ever had.

Attendance and homework not mandatory. If you do the homework, and attend class you should get an A. Quizzes happen almost every week, graded 1-4. (Practice for exams), They don't count against your grade. He throws out the lowest grade and adds the final avg 1-4 points to your grade as extra credit points. Extremely helpful.

Rated this guy with top scores last semester after having taken Logic with him. This class afforded the opportunity to see how his pedagogy really stacks up. I was disappointed with how the course turned out. Very boring lecturer. He made the subject more difficult than it really was. In short, it was easier to avoid class - I still got an A.

Very easy class. If you do all the homework and practice, this should be an easy A. I understand that the subject may be confusing to some people, but you won't find an easier or more helpful professor. (note: logic may just be easier for math majors like me and a lot of my friends.) You either get it or you don't.

I LOVED phil. mind with McIntyre in 1985 -- one of the 2 courses at CSUN that inspired me to become a professional philosopher myself. I was just checking to see if my own students have started to bash me at this site (not yet!), and thought I'd look up my old profs. Hate to see the bashing here.

grading policy is ambiguous and criteria changes. Graded our midterm by comparing it to an old student of his. No one received a perfect score based on this criterion. Tells you after the fact what he was really looking for in the papers. Avoid!!
