Very kind professor and pushes you out of your comfort zone (in the best way!) you get good amounts of time for each project! Leaves every project extremely open ended for all, but still talks one on one to give you tips and see where your heads at. Doesnt take attendance but its better to get your lab time in, he notices dedication.

This is by far the best art teacher in the art deparment at lbcc. If you get a chance to take his class you wont be dissapointed. His devlivery of the lesson's are informative. Furthermore, the instructor shows that he cares for the stundents and he as an instructor is full of possitive energy. Love his style of teaching.

How well you do in this class is highly dependent on how well you already draw/paint, and how well you implement his critique. He is a great professor that will only make you a better artist. He is incredibly helpful and is more than willing to work with you on achieving your artistic goals.

Stas is a successful artist who also happens to be a very good teacher and well versed in art history. He tailors his help to each individual student and is a wealth of knowledge. Any aspiring artist who takes his class should feel lucky for having a professor who transcends the academic world and the art world. Best art teacher I've taken.

Stas recognizes the abilities of each of his students. The critiques are a vital part of the class. Each student's work is individually evaluated by the entire class. He has motivated me to continue my love of art and to express that love in my own work.

Stas is the best art teacher I've had. He's both a working artist & a very dedicated teacher. He speaks eloquently about art & art history, does great demos, & finds value in everyone's work while still being honest in his critiques. He is very inspiring and grades on your improvement, not your talent. He's not easy, but he is fair. Well worth it.

Stas is a great teacher. Experienced, plays well with others, helpful, challenges you, makes you work for it but the rewards are worth it. I was impressed and will probably take another one of his classes this Fall. Not bad to look at... :)

His only real interest was getting us to use the tools that he liked the best. When he reviewed my work the piece he liked best was the worst one but it was 'GOOD' because I used charcoal and he loves charcoal. I like pencil. Artistic differences. I also caught the flu and he failed me because I had to stay home because of a fever.

I personally didn't like this teacher. If you have any talent at art, but don't like sucking up to teachers then this isn't the teacher for you. I did every assignment and only missed one day and I got an F. My classmates always said I was really talented and didn't understand why he picked on me. He only wants people who draw like his style.

I agree with all the past comments. He is a great art mentor. His style of teaching art is very pleasant. He is very friendly and caring. He will help you in any weakness you have in drawing; give you techniques to overcome it. Drawing life figure is interesting and challenging, for art major students he is your best choice. Totally recommended.

my first day in a studio setting was so intimidating but Prof. Stas was approachable and professional. The course was challenging and very, very knowledgeable...he has a outstanding level of passion for the Arts and it seeps out of him. Always, professional which is understandable...sometimes disappointing...can't ya throw a girl a flirt once!

Stas is a great teacher. I was in the professional skills for artists class, and I learned so much about what it takes to be a successful artist, and how to go about making a name for yourself. He was totally supportive, and really wanted to help each student reach their goals. I highly recommend both this class and Stas as a teacher.

Im so lucky to have had Stas as a teacher of mine. I continue to use techniques he taught me and im on grad school now. He knew of my ambitions and was more than willing to write recomendations to universities and offer me helpful criticism of my work. He also is a successful contemporary artist and creates a lovely body of work. And yes he is sexy
