Ron is a very sweet man with a good sense of humor but oh my gosh I will never take another one of his classes as long as I live. I don't know if I'm just stupid or if his lectures actually make no sense but in my opinion he will painstakingly go over basic material and fly passed anything thats actually complicated.

I had Ron for my calc 1 class. For a college that values class participation, Ron does next to none of this. He lectures all class long and i find myself zoning out because he is so damn boring. The worst prof that I have had so far at GAC. I would suggest not taking his class.

I had Rietz for statistics and it was the worst class I have taken at Gustavus. It appeared as if he had never taught statistics before let alone knew how to do any of the problems before the class. He would often question whether his answers were right and would ask the class to look over his work. Probably a nice guy, not a good class.

For Elementary Statistics, he didn't know much. When someone would ask questions he wouldn't know how to answer it. He's really funny. He talks to himself a lot and just says a lot of random things. He's a great person, he's been at Gustavus for over 40 years. We take a lot of notes with examples which are helpful when it comes to homework.

Professor is a nice enough guy, but the book he uses is terrible, and grading relies heavily on showing the right work, rather than getting the question right. I've taken the class in highschool and knew the material, but I did poorly on the tests because I didn't show what he wanted.

I would recommend taking a calc class from him if math is not your subject. His tests are easy if you understand the examples he gives you in notes. He also has a wonderful sense of humor. He is a great prof!

Prof Reitz is very willing to help if you go ask for it during his office hours. There were many times when I was beyond frusterated with the homework and went for help and left with a complete understanding of the topic. Not an easy course but an amazing prof for the course.

I hate math but he ended up being one of my favorite prof's, he can be really funny but you have to pay attention, incredibly helpful in and out of class, actually goes over exams so you can see what you did wrong without having to go to office hours which is nice since his is on 3rd floor!
