Comment:
Dr. Chioldi is probably the sharpest professor I've ever had. He's literally a musical genius! He really knows his theory, and will make a way for you to learn about it. Just keep in mind that he really knows his stuff, be willing to go at it with an open mind, and accept whatever he tells you about music theory. He's fantastic!

Comment:
He is such a harsh grader. You'll feel so confident in the homework and on a test, then get it back and only make a C. He is also just a mean spirited person. Enjoys mocking students and making them feel worthless.

I had Dr. Chioldi during the Fall semester of 2007. He was one of the most hateful people I've ever met in my life! Day after day in class piano he put down students for what I believe was self pleasure. If he didn't like you it was considered a blessing to barely pass. Dr. Chioldi made me feel so useless during my final. He should be fired!

Comment:
Dr. Chiodi always showed up late for my piano lessons and seemed very disorganized. He didn't seem to be able to convey his expertise to the student very well. He does not have much patience, which is a must for a piano teacher!

I had Dr. Chioldi back in 2003. Although he is very soft spoken, he's an amazing pianist and a wonderful teacher. Just ask him a question (preferably outside of class) and he will spend a great deal of time with you. He's a great instructor and was never condescending, even though I knew nothing. I am very grateful that I can now read music.

Comment:
I had Dr. Chioldi for "Piano for non-music majors." Group lessons in general are a drag, a disservice to the students I feel, but you can't blame him for that. He is forced to cater to the middle, so some feel the class moves too fast while others feel it moves too slow. Chioldi himself is a nice, soft spoken, encouraging guy, and a wicked pianist.
