Comment:
I genuinely think he confuses himself while trying to explain anything to us. He constantly does things wrong on the board, very vague explanations, and study guides are not helpful. The highest grades on tests in my specific class were 70-65%. If you pass, its gonna be barely.

Bonamy was a pretty good teacher. He will spend hours helping you during office hours and you just have to want to learn the material to do good. You will have to actually learn most of it, as you have to write your work and answers for most questions with a few multiple choice on the first test and final.

I only had Mr. Bonamy for lab and that was difficult enough. He grades tough, is terse and often unfriendly, and when I would ask him questions (which wasn't often) he would make remarks meant to shame me for not perfectly understanding the material or procedure without his guidance.

Prof Bonamy is a wonderful professor. He knows the material and tries to make sure you get it. The only thing is is that he does go very fast in his lecture so you NEED to take notes and do the HOMEWORK. If you need help, my advice email him to meet you.

This class is no joke, you WILL have to study very hard & do homework every night and the lectures move very fast and he doesn't go into the greatest depth so there will be some self learning involved and his exams are not straight forward gimmes

Everything is pretty much expected when it comes to this class. Labs help and clarify what you learn in lecture and apply it to your experiment. In the beginning of the semester I did the hw but then gave up mid semester and still got B's on the exams.

I never took intro to chem or high school chem, I didn't want to waste my time with it. The teacher was always there when help was needed. He is a very good teacher. As long as you study, and do the homework he assigns ( do it more than once) you will be fine. He just barely gives you enough time for the tests, so really... Know the homework!

Mr. Bonamy is ancient and needs to retire. His teaching style is so old and hard to follow. The only reason I am getting a B in this class is because I took intro which was basically the same stuff. Would not recommend if you haven't taken intro. Only goes over things one time then expects you to self teach with homework problems.

Proff. Bonomy wasn't terrible. But he was very difficult to understand. I would NOT recommend anyone to take this course without taking intro to chem. IF you are taking this course I suggest you do the homework every night and review the homework right before an exam. He doesn't have reviews or extra credit assignments. Just make sure to do HM.

Professor Bonamy is an excellent professor. He gives out supplemental notes so that all you have to do is fill in the blanks and add some of your own notes on the side. He gives the answer keys to everything a few days after he gives the assignment. I failed this class once before because I had no idea, but he actually taught in a way I understood.

This teacher is absolutely useless. He assigns problem sets as homework, and posts answer keys online a few days later, in his answer keys he doesn't do the problems assigned. Yeah. Awesome teacher.

This course isn't terribly difficult. I feel like most that complain about this professor do not adequately prepare for the tests. He's an awesome professor honestly, and he prepares you to handle more difficult courses. You need to know the homework problems inside and out to do well on the tests. Don't read the book, just practice the problems.

Tests are too long , not enough time to finish so grades are effected by that. He wants you to learn which is a plus. Avail. at office hrs. for help. A ton of homework, lots of quizzes, and no joke exams. I worked a full time job and found it hard to accomplish all of the work.

Amazingly nice guy. But unless you plan on majoring in a Science related field you might not want to take him. He will teach you an insane amount of useful information, but you will have to work for it. It's not an easy A by any means but still possible. But this is a GREAT teacher who spends all his free time helping any students who need it.

He is so sweet once you get to know him. If you show him that you are truly thinking hard, he will go out of his way to make sure you COMPLETELY get the material. He may get grumpy at times, and is hard of hearing but he will truly work with you. Take advantage of your time to take him. He's retired, too.

HORRIBLE teacher. I'm a straight A student, this guy will NOT give you an A no matter what! He has nothing negative to say about my research paper, yet gives me an 80. If this guy doesn't like you, GAME OVER. Easily the worst professor I have ever had at DSC. He talks down to his students are treats all but his favorites like crap.

If you go to his office with your questions ready and your problems attempted, he will be more than happy to help. Even though the class is difficult, you will be prepared for the university track after taking his CHM1045 and CHM1046. Do you work and try. This is college.

I had this teacher for chem 1045 and 1046. I did well in chemI because I really studied hard. By the time I got to chem II, his test were awfully hard. Even if you did your homework, the test had problems way more advanced. Believe me, it is true that if you do not fall into his category of favorite students, you just got a ticket to hell.

Very difficult teacher. Won't take him again ever!!! Tests do not reflect what is gone over in class. Spends test time on all math and nothing else from chapter. Trick questions and not enough time for test. Make up tests are impossible.
