This professor made me question if I wanna continue as a history major( and I'm a senior). Gave an unrealistic amount of reading on top of the multiple online assignments due each week, all while trying to figure out what your research project is going to be on. Again, totally unrealistic amount of reading, especially if you are a full-time student

This prof will test your will to be a history major. The class was a live/online mix, making it very difficult. Nearly every assignment has a 95-point max, so getting a flat A is improbable. There was a project involving a colonial shop that was research-intensive and involved making something called an infographic, which I hope to never do again.

Difficult grader. Tends to talk and talk and talk and hardly really covers anything of importance in class. A lot of reading, so be prepared to do that. Relatively hard grader. There's a project in which she requires you to go to a museum - not optional. Go to class ready to listen and speak up whenever possible - it'll help your grade.

Very reliant on group discussion, rarely covered all material. Attendance does count, along with participation. Covered centuries worth of history which made her insistence on detail a bit ridiculous. Told us she doesn't give above a 95% on anything. Read, take notes, pay close attention to directions. Weekly discussions, 2 papers, 2 written exams.

Hard grader, lots of reading. Lots of class discussion, participation. Read and have good insight and you don't need to take notes. Quiz every week pads your grades easily, get in a study group with other classmates.

Good Teacher, not a hard class. 4 papers(3-4 pages), no test, some homework questions and either a chart or worksheet due each week (takes less than an hour to do both). honestly not that hard. I got a B+. Just do well on the papers; research and write clearly and you'll get at least a B- in the class

Great Professor! It was a bit of work, but she gave out no tests it was all just papers. If you read the books and write the papers, turn them in on time you should be good. I got an A and I didn't have any trouble doing it. Some homework assignments but they were really easy. She is very helpful as well.

She's really nice, and her class really isn't hard. I took her in honors, and we only had to write papers and fill in some question and answer charts. You can easily get an A- if you work on your essays, turn them in on time, and do your research!

Hard, hard class. Good, good teacher. Dr. Beiler is more than willing to help you with something if you need it. Though some of the assignments may have seemed vaguely pointless at times, they ended up working out to your advantage by the time the final (15 page) paper was due.

This is a difficult class. The focus is to teach you how to research through an original research project. Alone the way, there are lots of pointless and difficult assignments on sources you won't use in your final paper. Dr. Beiler was nice enough but, she expected way too much work. She even said that she conducted the class like her PhD classes.

Dr. Beiler is such a nice person! She does expect a lot out of you in this class. There is a lot of writing. And at times the final paper assignment seems impossible. Class discussions are fun, but the work is tedious and time consuming. If you are having trouble she is willing to help.

She is not an easy grader. I took her for a grad seminar; a lot of the students were first time grad students and were having trouble making the transition from undergrad to graduate mentality. Her expectations are high; but she is helpful if you ask; quite knowledgeable, and she expects you to work

She is a very temperamental grader- you never know what she'll feel about a paper. Very knowledgable about the topic, but wastes alot of class time and gives you so much information you become extremely overwhelmed.

This professor is not a good professor. Her grading is extremely inconsistent. She wastes alot of time. She seems to be unprepared. She takes at least two weeks to return anything (essay or test). She likes lots of group work, which is hard if your group does not read the books. I give her a C-.

She is a nice person. She has wasted so much time in class, such as 25 minutes talking about History Graduate Studies to a mixed group. She is very inconsistent in her grading. There are some that were marked off and others not for the SAME thing. She grades the essays hard, tests are normal.
