Great professor, even greater person. People may be put off by his attitude but he is a stellar individual. If you put the effort he will go the extra mile for you. Take him, you will not regret it.

We discussed the 100 pages of reading he assigned the last class, but no one likes to participate because his humor is caustic. Then he assigns an in class writing assignment about whatever he feels like. There were a few times where he called the whole class morons. Not a nice person. Didn't have a syllabus. Grading was very ambiguous.

Only used one textbook: 100 Great Essays, twice. Required to purchase a collegiate dictionary. Gives plenty of notice, yet some people in class showed up the day of without it and received a F. I don't get it. pay attention. he runs his class like a 4yr university. You will be a better, more confident writer by the end.

Starts off the first day by saying he expects half the class to drop by the end of first week. It didn't take a week but by mid semester a class of 30 was down to about 15. This is not his fault. He clearly spells out how he likes things and expects you to follow directions. If you can do that you're golden. You write a paper for every class.

If you're student who needs a weekly play by plays, with constant praise and attention, this Teacherclass is not for you. He is brutal, sarcastic, and will give off the air of disinterest. But he is open, challenging, and will never turn you away. This Professor in an Introverts dream. NO: group projects, getting to know your peers, coddling!

This professor is THE WORST that I have ever come across. When you come in to class, you have a paper that's due (usually an essay about the article you choose) and you also write an essay in class about a topic he mentions the class before. He teaches you NOTHING... even if he grades you low on your essay. Fortunately, he's easy, but useless.

He threatened to drop me when I was late twice. Theres an Armenian kid who comes in till 9:30 and hasnt dropped him. He is very sarcastic and an atheist he does not assign homework which is great. Just a lot of reading and always a summary at the end of the class about what you read. Easy grader I doubt he reads the papers if its long you got an A

Einstein is pretty nice, but no matter the how perfect your papers are if you don't follow instruction you won't pass...do extra credit....people think he's really mean but he's not, he wants to know what extent your willing to go to pass the class

Comment:

The Worst Ever... Eisenstein either lost his charm or never had any interest in teaching. He does not help anybody and all his does is to read the New York Times Best Seller's portion. Take him for one week and remember this review. A cut out board is would do a better job than he does. He insults, degrades, and brags about his Psychology major.

Comment:

Professor Eisenstein is a good professor who cares about his students. Many students cannot tell when he is joking, which makes them uncomfortable, but in reality Eisenstein is a laid back (and I mean way back) man. He is blunt, yes, but never cruel or unfair.

Not one of my favorites. I wasn't impressed with his teaching because he doesn't read thoroughly: he skims an essay and offers no constructive criticism. I've had hard-nosed teachers who were very critical, kept me writing and improved my skills; at least they made a difference in my career, but I cannot say the same for him.

I don't think I have ever had such an unappealing teacher. His disdain towards ESL students is palpable in the classroom. I was shocked at the absolute lack of actual instruction that took place in his classroom. AVOID!

Eisenstein is a unique professor. He is brutally honest about your writing, but that will only make you better. Very funny man. Not a class for lazy people or terrible writers. Expect to write daily essays. With no hesitation, I will take a second English class with him. I highly recommend to take his class if you care about bettering yourself.

I've taken this professor for English 28, English 101 and English 102. His teaching ways are unusual. You will write and use the textbook every class. I've received As in all the classes and he is really easy if you understand if teaching methods.

I know his teaching methods are rather... unconventional, but he actually helps you improve your writing skills immensely (if you're willing to do the work). However, if you're not a good writer to begin with, I would suggest taking another professor.
