Dean Howe is awesome. I'm glad he's not a dean anymore and can teach this year. He is a very clear lecturer, never gets down on someone for answering wrong, and is absolutely hilarious. He's like that really cool, but really smart awesome uncle that we all wish we had. He's a great professor AND a great person.

He lets you get a way with just sitting in class but he really won't respect you unless you volunteer and act interested (even if you aren't he won't be able to tell). he's a nice guy and pretty funny, even though I don't think he tries to be. If you answer the question wrong, he will say he didn't hear you, that's your cue to go the other way.

Comment:

Very knowledgeable in the subject. His lectures can get very boring, but it is clear that he is excited about the subject matter ("Beauuutiful!") The key to his final is studying the sample midterm answer. Try to throw as much of that info in as you can and you'll do great. Not all that helpful during office hours and does NOT respond to emails.
