Sean was incredibly kind and helpful. He really cared and ensured us we would do well. His jokes were the same but they never got old. He is a really funny guy and would always make the class laugh. I wish more profs were like him. Marking was kinda tricky though. However, I would definitely take another class.

If you have to take SOCI 328 then TAKE IT WITH SEAN. He made a boring class like statistics interesting and his lectures were always fun. He is also super helpful out of class, in office hours and through email.

I had both for Soci 328 and 354. He's an amazing prof, he tries to make the material interesting by cracking jokes and applying them to useful concepts. However, I would definitely say Soci 328 was a better class! There are too many readings for 354, the class is just based on discussion.

I was terrified to take a statistics course as I hadn't taken math since grade 10. Sean really takes an interest in making sure his students understand the material, and he creates "activities" for every week which practice the material learned. If you have an option to take Sean for Stats, DO IT.

Exam Q's out of X but do not need X amount of points. Giving you full marks is up to him - no explanation given. 100% discussion based but he doesn't even structure it in any way. Everything I learnt was from peers - he gave no notes/etc. He's biased to those who participate. Good contributions make class interesting but otherwise useless course.

He is one of the most engaging professors i've ever had! He's so passionate about sociology and has a great sense of humor! Super nice and friendly as well! Professor Lauer took a dry subject and made it fun to learn!

he's completely useless. he never replies to my emails. he expects you to go out of your way and find 35 odd articles online and print them out. each article is atleast 20 odd pages. class attendance was very poor. I do regret taking this class. even though I participate a lot, I find his discussions dumbfounded and repetitive

Attendance for his class was terrible. Online webct was supposed to be a big part of the course but was a total joke. His expectations for each assignment are incredibly vague and you rarely know exactly what he's looking for. Final Projects were NOT marked by the end of the final exam so no idea how I did on that.

Avoid this class if you can. His class lectures are never on topic. Exams questions are all written, kinda ambiguous. Doesn't use the textbook much. You never know what he wants, he asks you to hand called assignments but you don't know if he actually marks them. He would ask you to write down a blurp in class, and just hand it in.

He is really a nice pro. You can score very high by 1.not even attending one lecture 2.hand in the assignment even 10 days late than the due date 3.just read the meterials one night before the test Strongly reconmanded if you need a GPA boost He is helpful outside class too. But not a good lecturer except nod his head and says "yes yes yes..."
