Yes he talks about his family or simply how are we doing in our personal life a lot but all he has done in my lab class is ensure safety and respect the use of chemistry instruments, and time management. His conversations create trust between our skills, knowledge, and self-initiative in lab.

If u can get Sheehan, get Sheehan. Forget about the curve...at least u learn something chemistry related and hence have a chance to pass the course. All Berger does is talk about his life. Doesn't teach to save his life. Thank goodness for the txt bk and Sheehan.

Explains stuff, but constantly keeps talking about his personal life. If you ask him smth be sure that he is not going to explain it and will leave you very confused. But, he gives a curve not like Sheehan who grades very strictly, so it is for you to decide. If you want an easy grade- he is OK

WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! AS HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT I EXPECTED A LOT MORE. I LEARNED MORE IN MY RECITATION THAN THE LECTURE! HE SPENDS HIS TIME TELLING YOU THINGS ABOUT HIS PERSONAL LIFE INSTEAD OF THE MATERIAL HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE TEACHING IF HE GAVE A TEST ON HIM LIFE, I THINK THE ENTIRE CLASS WOULD PASS WITH A 100. DON'T WAIST YOUR TIME OR MONEY!

Not worth paying out of state fees for his class. WORST TEACHER EVER. He may just be past his prime. But I don't care. I deserve better. For him to allow 2 students last semester to repeatedly distrupt the class was UNACCEPTABLE. I didn't learn anything from him. I had to relearn everything through Sheehan.

Good textbook.Loved the book, I was able to teach the material to myself from it. I certainly didn't learn it in class.Spent most of the time telling personal stories and making **** remarks about how women shouldn't be in science because they should be home finding husbands and starting families before they get too old. ****, INAPPROPRIATE

Outdated! He really needs to retire and let professor Sheehan step up as head of the chemistry dept. If you find yourself in his class transfere immediately. Find another professor and beg to let you in their class!

MAN, this guy should hang it up. He is just awful overall. He can't convery what he is talking about in class. He is hard to follow and his tests are right out of the book. That isn't so bad, but he is REALLY AWFUL.

He doesnt understand the material himself, he is always saying oh that's not right, he doesnt write he own test then tells you that you should know the information on the test and get better then an 80%. He is very hard to talk to, he doenst care.
