Shawn is an awesome teacher, and an awesome person. He cares so much about his students, and really wants them to do well. He expects a lot, but is never unjust in his treatment of his students. BEST TEACHER EVER! Takes an honest interest in his students, that is not pushy or non-genuine in any way.

Shawn is one of the best professors in the department! I have taken his drawing class too, and I always learn something in his class! Attendance is always mandatory, otherwise you miss a lot. He always offers (constructive) criticism, but it's for your benefit. Make sure your projects have IMPECCABLE craftsmanship, because that's always a plus.

A great teacher, very nice and helpful. Takes time to talk to you and gives advice. You can re-do your projects if you do not like the grade. 7 projects that are graded and attendance is required. He covers more material then other basic art classes. You will learn a lot, going to critiques is also required.

Such an amazing teacher! I am not an artist, I am studying art history and REQUIRED to take the class, and he was really helpful and very patient with me! Made it very enjoyable even though i'm not a great artist. I wish I took him for Art 101 as well!

I came in not wanting to draw at all because i never thought i was good at it but he was really helpful at pointing out what you're good and what you need to work on. by the end of the semester, you'll absolutely love drawing. he's just an easy going guy. at the end, you just turn in your best drawings for the final

There's about 4-5 projects and one for the final as well, but if you love drawing you shouldn't mind. He often gave us extensions on projects when we asked. You get a lot of time to practice in class and as long as you ask he'll help you if you're having trouble. I loved it.

Good Professor, but you NEVER know what grade you have. I kept asking him, when we will be able to know, and he kept saying that he would talk to us individually, but he never did. I came out with a pretty good grade, I got a B. So I guess it was ok. Good teacher, pretty easy class.
