Professor Lim is a great professor. Although most of the class is led by the students she still really knows her stuff and helps us through the discussion if need be. As long as you read before the class and participate at least once every class you will get an A. The midterm and final are both papers that are graded very fairly.

class was very hard to stay interested in.. she gives no lectures and your grade is 100% based on group presentations. she keeps track of each individual time that you raise your hand to say something. main problem: she's unhelpful , dismissive

Vague, detached, bubbly and unhelpful, Lim will make all but the most forgiving and patient students lose interest (and possibly their sanity). Beware: she is an arbitrary and capricious grader who comes across as unwilling to discuss or explain the grades she gives.

Class was mostly student-led. She wasted a lot of time on laughably useless, patronizing in-class "exercises" that you would expect in elementary school, not a 300-level class (such as having everyone in the room read one sentence each out loud from the syllabus and wasting 15 minutes taking roll-call instead of just passing around a sign in sheet)

It was an easy enough class, but I really didn't get anything out of. Professor Lim was nice, but she really didn't teach anything--we had to do it ourselves. Two midterms, one group project (yeah I know), and mandatory attendance. If you really want to learn history take a class with Masten instead.

The entire class is based on class discussion, and participation. You just have to go to class, and participate on the readings. Both midterms were take home essays, there was no final just the justification paper. Definitely take the class!

Avoid her!!!!!!!!!!!! She missed lots of classes with lame excuses. She was pissed off because the department took away her TA but then the same TA kept on coming to class showing movies etc. Tconfusion continued when some guy (not trhe TA) graded almost everything. She didn't do anything really.

professor lim is a crowd pleaser, she is a nice woman and the classes are incredibly easy, but the midterm and final were extremely unfairly graded and considered that midterm and final is your whole grade and she doesnt grade them is makes the situation very unfair

This class was a joke. A really bad professor! If you like to have class only once in a while, then take her. Half the classes are cancelled. But this makes for lots of confusion because the schedule gets screwed up. She doesn't really teach and don't expect to learn much.

I have no idea why anyone wouldn't love this smart, interesting, kind, humble young teacher. She assigns fascinating reading, knows her stuff, values her student's insights and the conversations in her class are fun. No one would dislike her unless they simply did not do the reasonable amount of work she required and wanted to blame her for a C.

Absolutely couldn't stand her! She was a god-awful professor from the word GO! My god! I can't stand her! She relies so much on participation it's not even funny. She doesn't actually teach. I think I took at most 2 pages of lecture notes from her all semester. Everything else was relied on students! Man! What are we paying her for?!?!? Don't take!

Someone who failed both tests and wrote a POS paper got nearly the same grade as someone who got low A-high B on the tests and wrote a very good paper. Insanity. She made this semester hell and made me rethink my history major.

All the people telling you not to take the class are dumb as nails! It is ssooo easy! She is very into pleasing the class and will work with you on anything. You know exactly what is going to be on the tests. If you do not want to go up infront of the class to do short assign. don't pick this class.

This is the worst class I've taken since I've been here. She tries as hars as possible to NOT teach, I haven't learned anything yet, and her grading is insane and arbitrary. If you want your soul sucked out slowly, take her. If not, then please dont.
