Not going to lie, I had a rough semester. Family emergency/crisis resulted in me not being 100% there when it class... Yagi Sensei took this into consideration and offered assistance outside of class time to help me keep up. He's hard, but a good teacher. Above all, definitely a good person.

Yagi is interesting. He's extremely disorganized and his class is kind of all over the place, but it's not awful. He's really bad at letting you know what your grade is. Nothing is recorded in the computer even though we turned in about 30 assignments. He's very caring, just a little frustrating at times.

Yagi is my academic advisor. Ive had three classes with him... When I ask for help he is more likely to send me else where. This past semester I had him for an Arts of Japan course. This is the most unorganized and ridiculous class that I have ever taken. He is all over the place and tests us on material that we haven't even learned.

A really funny guy, has a passion for what he teaches and if you don't understand he will try a few other ways until you get it. Nice, easy to work with. A first rate guy.

Yagi-Sensei is my academic adviser as well as the professor of three of my classes. He is absolutely amazing and makes sure that the class understands what he his teaching. But don't expect an easy grade, sure he curves, but the class gets harder and harder.

For my seminar, Dr Yagi was really good. He is funny and is a fun teacher. The one problem for me was that very occasionally i could not understand what he was saying

I love Dr. Yagi! Japanese by itself is really tough but as long as you work hard and he knows you are working hard you will do fine. He gives many extra credit opportunities and class is always fun, interesting, and engaging, there's never a dull moment.

I've been here a while but he's still my favorite professor at Furman. He really cares about his students and also want you to go to Japan too :). His classes are not hard but it's not easy either. Sometimes his lectures seem a bit confusing because he just lay it out all there. That way I've learnt a lot about Japanese culture from his class.

Very funny and helpful. As long as you come to class and keep up on your homework you should do well. He is very generous about curving grades.

Yagi sensei makes this film class a little harder than it should be. He never lectures, which is a little crazy and makes it hard to know what he is looking for. Great guy though, made me fall in love with Japan. Would be a great pass/fail.

Yagi Sansee is the most considerate and kindest professor at Furman. People look down on the workload of this class but it's not that easy. c'mon you all know how furman is. A is very possible though he grades kinda hard. I learnt a lot from this class and enjoy it too.

Yagi sensei is a bit confusing, and it was a harder class than I thought it was going to be. He also grades really hard ... you could put down all the information you know and he'd still find something to mark off about. Overall enjoyed the class, though

Yagi sensei is quite possibly the kindest professor at Furman University. I've taken his film class and am now in JPN 21, and I've enjoyed both immensely. He's hilarious, helpful and thoughtful. He really wants to expand your horizons in regards to not just Japan, but the outside world. Wonderful!

Went to class half the time. He cancelled the midterm. Never read anything. If you can get past the fact that you have to watch a few videos and write a few simple one page reviews, you'll be allright. He's tough to understand, but really cool. THIS IS THE EASIEST ASIAN AFRICAN AT FURMAN!

Yagi wa ningen no naka ni kami desu! He is the most awesome Furman professor. Funny, brilliant, a little lazy, but really cares more about whether you're learning/trying than your test performance. Be prepared to do the work but Yagi is the epitome of awesome.

The class is easy overall, and his method of teaching works relatively well, just by doing well on the first few quizzes will set you up for an A (he allows 2-3 drops). The exam is long, but possible.
