This was the best class ive taken at ASU! This dude happel really made macro econ a fun subject to learn. Go to his study sessions and you will pass the class with an A. The first two tests I didnt go to the study session and passed with a C average. After going to the study sesh for the last 3 tests I got a 100% on the last 3. fun class overall!

By far my favorite professor and class I've taken at ASU. Professor Happel is knowledgable and credible in his teaching. I recommend studying with a group of friends before exams and reviewing you notes right after the class period. Don't skip lectures (there's no such thing as a free lunch). You'll definitely learn how to think like an economist!

Attendance is optional. Lectures are funny and material is simple. The class before the exam he reads the test to you which are multiple choice questions. If you do well on all the exams, then you don't have to take the final. Great class to take and requires very little work for an easy A. I would definitely take this class again.

Happel is a funny professor but the way the class is structured makes it difficult to succeed without a strong ability to memorize and regurgitate information. Lectures are fast with no real notes. Test review takes place the class before the test. He says what each question will be about but the questions are tricky and based on his words.

Very opinionated. Tests are based on what he believes . He does give answerd to the test. SHOW UP TO CLASS THE LECTURE BEFORE THE TEST!

This class is an easy A. Happel is very likeable with interesting lectures and stories. He goes over every question that will be on the test and all the information you need to know with each question. If you want an easy A, take him. However, if you want to learn how to do problem-solving for economics, I'd say skip him.

I don't recommend this professor. Though he is smart and he clearly knows his stuff, he doesn't assign homework and doesn't give legitimate notes to study for the class. His exams consist of confusing, tricky questions and yes, I went to all the review sessions and they did not help. Just because there's no homework does NOT mean he's good.

I loved Dr. Happel! He is very smart and pretty funny! You really don't have to go to any lectures except for the ones before each test because he tells you what questions will be on the test, and gives you pointers on the answers. I still went to all his lectures just because they were so fun and interesting. You'll learn a ton and love it all!

This class is a lot of fun, just keep in mind that he's going to be very strong with his opinion. Best tip: skip lectures any day, but always go the the lecture before the test. At the end of class he will tell you VERBATIM what the test questions will be. Use your phone to record what he says and just use that for your study guide.

If you fail this class, you might as well drop out. The information and order to the questions are given out the class before the test. Most people get As. That being said, I would still recommend another professor. He is funny and nice; however, you don't learn much about macro. Huge problem when you go to micro and they make references. :/

If you want to take a class about Happel's thoughts on life and the universe, take this class. If you want to learn about basic macroeconomic principles, I suggest another professor. The only thing I learned was his opinion on every president from Washington to Obama.

I reluctantly give Happel good scores. If you want an easy A, take him. If you want to learn Economics, don't. The man should be teaching a political science course on the history of money. He tells you facts, but he doesn't tell you why something is that way. There is a complete lack of actual economic principles in his lectures.
