First off, most of these reviews are quite misleading as this class is not nearly as easy as they make it seem. The tests are extremely difficult and require at least a week of preparation. The first test was hard, second was the hardest, but the last test was the easiest. Very boring class that could use a huge amount of modernization. Caution...

He is a really nice teacher but i can tell why everyone thought he was EXTREMELY boring.His course is straight notes, so if you write and memorize all the notes you can do well. Pop quizzes are really easy. But go to office hours and talk to him he will sometimes slip an answer to a test question that you don't know.

He needs to take a note taking class because how he writes out his lecture notes out is the most confusing thing. but - none of the information is hard, and don't bother buying the textbook (i never used it). he follows up several chunks of notes with "but you dont need to know this". overall easy class if you put in decent effort

Extremely boring. If the notes were not mandatory, I would not attend. What he writes on the board is either superfluous or lacking most of the time; for a class based on notes, this is devastating. He requires that you basically know everything he writes. He makes all his HW and test questions on his own, so if you need to have perfect notes.

Love this professor! hes really approachable, friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. very passionate about the subject, so much so he gets you interested very easily. highly recommend this class. 3 tests, all pretty easy, no textbook, no homework. Very interesting and easy A

Awesome professor, extremely straightforward and really helpful especially in office hours. You can talk to him about anything, he's never condescending. Take good notes and you'll do well on the tests. He tries really hard to give good grades to the people that deserve them.

It is not a super easy class.. you really have to study before the test and memorize the whole notes from head to bottom..even the years and numbers Go to the lecture and take the notes. The grading system can be unfair since only letter grades are taking parts in the final grade..not the really test score

as long as you go to class and take notes, and study, you will get an A. you dont need to even buy the textbook. just study the class notes and the tests are directly from the notes. he is a very nice, smart, interesting professor. id definitely take his class again if i could

This was suppose to be an easy class...it wasn't at all. The first test was all numbers even though he said not to study them. The 2nd test was alright and the 3rd test was easy. You should show up every class because there are random quizzes that could really hurt your grade.

Very nice teacher. Textbook is not used so dont buy it. No homework, 3 tests the whole year and random quizzes in lecture. The class is not as easy as this page will make it seem, but its still not hard to get an A in it..but you do need to study before the tests. I'd recommend taking this class, even though lectures do get boring sometimes.

Class is dry and slow going, but all you need is the notes he gives in class. Material is interesting. Dickman is a very nice guy, sadly students take advantage and talk a lot during class. Easy A if you study even a little.

Great professor, class is an easy A. Pop quizzes are usually only 1 question long and are given out every chapter. Three easy exams and no final. Lectures cover a wide range of very interesting topics. Dickman is very easy going and nice guy. Go to lecture and take good notes, and you will be fine. A+

He is such a nice and brilliant guy, but students don't respect him because he is easygoing. Class is interesting, sometimes a little dry but generally very worthwhile.
