He was very picky about grammar and honestly small mistakes could really mess up your score. For all the HW assignments, try to submit them about two days early, just in case you made mistakes. He will tell you your errors and allow you a chance to perfect your score. Get 100% on the final and midterm and quizzes, this class is an easy A if you try

This professor was okay. He likes to nit pick your grammar, the smallest mistake may cost you your overall grade on the assignments because everything is only worth 1-3 points. Those little points make a big difference on your grade in the class. He does give you time to fix the errors however sometimes I was totally confused on his comments.

Took his classes online. He's great. I mixed up a couple of songwriters in a discussion post, and he corrected me in a helpful way. I recommend his classes. I learned so much!

Took summer online class, read reviews of past students, thought that it would be an easy 3 credits. NOPE save yourself I am a straight A student and he just wouldn't give me an A I got a final grade of 89/100 with is ONE POINT away from an A. No extra credit no sympathy.

Not a difficult online class at all. Everything is well organized and participation matters. 2 exams, 1-2 homework questions and a discussion question a week (for the most part), and 1 Review paper on a school production. Really interesting class and quite easy to follow.

Oh my goodness, Steve Pliska is by far one of the most patient instructors I have ever met. Extremely helpful, easy going, and knowledgeable. Think this was the easiest class I've ever taken in college. Lots of group work, but its so fun and engaging, you don't even realize you're doing work! Take a Steve Pliska class, you won't regret it.

If you love Lighting theatrical lights, you should definitely take his lighting classes. He provided a lot of lecture notes, and helps you use a lighting equipment properly, even if you make a first mistake. You need a textbook and notes to complete quizzes, and exams. He's funny, and a chill teacher. Great work Steve Pliska.

Steve is one of the best teacher's I have ever had. He never raises a voice and understands that everyone learns at different paces and will never make you do something you don't feel comfortable in doing. He's been my mentor in Stage Management and Lighting and I couldn't ask for anyone better nor could I imagine it being anyone else.

Super easy course. I loved the professor. I took the class online during the summer and it was refreshingly simple. Anyone who complains about how picky he is about grammar clearly needs to go back to an English class. I had no issues and think most professors should be picky about grammar in essay style questions.

Do not take this teacher online in the summer. Some of the questions on the test weren't even in the textbook nor anywhere else in the course. I would not recommend this teacher, and like somebody mentioned way too picky about spelling/grammar. Theater sounded like an interesting topic to me prior to taking this class. I've never hated a topic more

I have to say, Steve Pliska is such a helpful instructor. Not only he provided notes for us after students watched several Musical DVDs, but he also gave students a chance to take a Midterm exam & final exam at our own homes. He's chill and kind. Take his class and you should be fine. Don't forget to complete your quizzes or you won't score points!

This guy is waaayyyyy too particular. Thinks he's an English Professor or something. gave me F's on half of my homework assignments just because I misspelled a single word or didn't capitalize it. If you take this course, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE WON A NATIONAL SPELLING B. This guy is ridiculous.

Steve is just about as friendly, open, and easy as a professor can get. He makes all of the tests open-note, sometimes take-home, and you're always allowed to do them in groups. Sometimes the lectures feel a little slow, but he keeps everything going with his great sense of humor and knowledge of theatre.

What a great class! The professor you want if you are not a theater fanatic and are willing to do about 2 hours of work a week on a class. Easy quizzes, very easy. You need the book. Don't be vague in the discussion boards. More is better when you write on the discussion board.
