Comment:
I think Professor Freeh is a great lecturer and does well with the dense material he has to teach. Animal Histology will never be fun but going to class & recording his lectures are how you will pass. I started with my first exam being below average and ended with every other exam being way above the average by studying the lecture recordings.

Freeh is a very intelligent and kind man. You have short weekly quizzes that cover about a tests worth of material- EVERY WEEK. The practicals are the worst thing I have ever experienced. The whole class needs to be redesigned so we actually learn something and don't have major anxiety every week. I'm so happy to never step foot in that lab again.

Comment:
He is a wonderful guy, but he is so monotone and quiet when he talks that it is nearly impossible to pay attention. The weekly quizzes are absurd. This is a 200 level lab but is easily hard enough to be a graduate level class on its own. I feel like I learned a lot and enough to help me in the future... but my grades do not reflect this.

Can be a bit monotone but is overall a good lecturer. He cares about his students and will go over a subject over&over and in detail in office hours if you ask him to. Tests can be a bit tricky, but are doable. Make sure you write down everything he says in lecture if you want a good grade. My grades were B+ to A- range but ended up getting an A.

Comment:
Frankly, it is hard to believe that the overall grade for Dr. Freeh is an "A-" -- it is FAR from truth. If you are not in the first 3 rows, you will NOT hear a word. He will go on tangents about the most minuscule, insignificant things and then test you on them using a strangely worded question. Write down every word, learn notes by heart.

I did not enjoy this professor at all. He is monotone and speaks very softly, in a large lecture you can't hear him if you aren't in the first three rows (which fill quickly). He ignores in class questions and will only help if you go to office hours which he rarely has. The test averages are 40-50% but he curves them, why not just make it easier?

Dr. Freeh is my favorite professor. If you ask, he will help you. Go to office hours, or else the practicals will be really hard. Lab takes a lot of work, but it's really worth it. If you put the work in, you will do well. I really enjoyed Dr. Freeh's lab and I learned a lot.

My favorite bio class in Binghamton. Your grade is 50% tests and 50% lab. The lab section itself does require a considerable amont of extra work though. Put in the work and you'll do good in lab. Freeh can be a bit unclear in lecture sometimes. Key is to go to his office hours and ask lots of questions. Tests are tricky and detailed.

Freeh is an amazing professor! I loved this class so much though it was probably one of the most difficult biology classes I have ever taken at BU! Take really good notes & try to write down every word that Dr. Freeh says. Anything is fair game on the exams.exams are beast! Lab is really fun! Take this class. You wont regret it. Huge curve at end

Dr. Freeh is amazing. Compared to lecture, you can do very well on the lab practicals..just study! He's always there if you need a hand. Read the lab manual and be prepared for those quizzes! They can frustrating but they will help you do well on the lab practicals.

With a class as difficult as Animal Histology Dr. Freeh has his work cut out for him. Luckily the man is very passionate about what he does and after taking the course I feel like I had a mastery of the material. Impossible tests, quizzes but nice curves. The lab section is absurdly hard, pray you get nice TAs and go to office hours!!

Freeh is awesome. I had a lot of trouble with A&P I lab, but he was always willing to help out. Quizzes are every week and you'll come to think of them as mini tests because you really need to study that much for them. Some people say they never read the text book, but I found it really helpful--so just read everything if you have trouble.

Dr. Freeh is an amazing teacher who really loves what he does, but unless you are prepared for an impossible quiz every single week, don't take the class! Although his quizzes and practicals are very difficult, he offers tons of office hours and is always there to help. He is enthusiastic and a really nice guy, just go to his office hours!
