average exams were 60%. I didnt like BIS 105, but not because of him He was great, taught well and went into pretty much just the amount of detail thats needed for exams. non-mandatory hw helps out for exam. Daily quizzes (1 clicker question). Take BIS102/103 if you want to learn the info well. BIS 105 i felt skipped too much info

Amazing professor! TONS OF WORK! (It's biochem, what did you expect?) Homework is not required, but good practice for exams. Exams are curved. Lots of information, so stay on top of studying. Quiz every class- 7% of total grade, the rest is exams. He posts his podcasts and notes. Very personable- fun to talk to. Take him! )

Dr. Theg is an AMAZING professor! He has clear and concise notes and offers a lot of help. Office hours are a must to grasp a great understanding of the material because it is ALOT. I recommend taking him for bis 105!

Dr. Theg is a compassionate professor who deeply cares about the well-being of his students. He reached out to every student that didn't do well on the first midterm offering his help and support. That said, 105 is A LOT OF INFORMATION. His tests asks questions in the analytic form, less than conceptual. His final was easy compared to the midterm.

Comment:
Theg was a good professor, but there was a TON of material in this class. Do really well on midterm 1 because midterm 2 requires straight memorization. The final seemed like it was going to be the toughest, but did not contain as much pathway memorization as I thought. I would recommend printing out the online notes and annotating those.

Prof Theg really cares for his students. Easy to talk to. Lectures might be confusing, but just go over the posted online notes afterwards and ask for clarifications on things you find confusing. HW problems for MT1 is useful, but not really useful for MT2 and final. Practice exams are helpful and quite similar to the actual ones in my opinion.

Biochemistry is hard, but Theg is a good teacher and reasonable about what he expects from you. His tests are fair, although they weren't too similar to the practice exams. Lectures are a must, and if you want to do well on the quizzes, memorize the memorization list--it really helps and keeps you on track!

I love Dr. Theg. He takes time to know his students. Tests are quite easy if you actually study efficiently. Clear notes posted. Final was way easier than midterms (fill in the blanks for pathways). Memorization list is helpful. Do it because it gives you full points for in class quizzes (so attendance is a must). Take him!

Professor Theg was a wonderful professor. Super helpful if you needed it. Patient, caring, and waited until you understood the material. He took the time to know his students which you can't say about a lot of professor. Material is dense and there is a lot to know, so study early, go to lectures, READ his lecture slides, and do homework problems.

The class itself is pretty straightforward. Attend lecture so that you understand the lecture notes that are posted online. I felt lost on the days that I didn't. Read the text prior to lecture. Professor Theg is a helpful and kind professor and makes an effort to get to know you. He speaks softly, so sit close!

Very nice guy, must attend all lectures and study everyday and MUST do hw in chunks every weekend or else you're done for. Aced all tests by studying and doing hw, class is very hard at end because of many mechanisms u learn but doable and manageable, Its more of a 4 unit class rather than 3. I enjoyed the class and HIGHLY recommend theg stevens.

Lecture notes are critical in the absence of clear teaching during class - mumbles with back to students while writing in tiny font on board, difficult to follow if not seated in first 2 rows. Does genuinely care about students, follows through if you're struggling and holds great office hours.

Dr. Theg is such a great teacher. I was so scared for this class but ended up doing really well. His tests are definitely fair and he curves them. He is really nice and does his lectures on the board which helps slow them down so you can actually keep up. Take him!!!

Theg is a great professor. His lectures are extremely well-organized and clear, his tests are fair, and he cares about his students a lot. The exams tend to have questions similar to the homework problems - so definitely do the homework, even though it is optional. Also, be sure to sit near the front, because he has very small writing.

Three words: Online lecture notes!!! They are a lifesaver in this class. While lecture is often confusing and things are written down incorrectly, the notes are always clear and easy to study from. Also, go to office hours. Molly is a great TA and she tends to give you a good idea of what's important to know. Exams are tough, study hard.

Truly caring and willing to help. Attendance required since there are in class quizes. Tests are off of in class notes and homework he posts, so book probably not needed unless you like to read.

He is a nice guy. There are 2 midterms (30% each), quizes (every lecture, total 8%), and the final exam. Don't need to buy the textbook or the solution manual book. He post his lecture on smartsite, study his lectures, do homeworks and pratice exams. If you can do it, you should be fine. Whatever class average is, it will be B-. Better take him tha

Dr. Theg is pretty funny guy and he cares about his students, which you can tell right off the bat. There's a lot of information to digest in BIS 105, so don't think it will be easy! If you study his lecture notes and go to class you should do great. Whatever the average is, is the last B- he gives.
