This class was very interesting. There are three writing assignments that are worth 25 points each. Weekly discussions and three exams. No textbook needed because she gives you all you need in her lecture notes. Take it if you plan on going to USC :)

Dowden's class is a safe choice. If you read the textbook, print out the slides (I don't recommend writing everything out; this is much easier), do the extra credit, the review, and the in-class/activities, you will pass the class.

I really enjoyed Dowden! Her perspective was unbiased and refreshing! Do the online hw/ quizes and study, and youll be good! She also offers tons of Extra Credit if you go to seminars!

I really enjoyed her Sociology online class. Interesting movies to watch for the Critical Thinking Essay and all you do is discussions and activities and exams on Etudes. Her class made me interested in Sociology before I never even knew about it until her awesome online class.

basically impossible to get anything less than an A. it's so easy like i haven't had tests this easy since middle school. but dowden is just so boring during lectures and she is not clear when it comes to grading essays, also beware of the group project - most of the people in the honors class aren't motivated students so they'll be a pain.

Prof. Dowden is very straightforward and funny. Her tests are very simple. She reiterates what is in the textbook, so as long as you read that, show up to class, and do the assignments on time, you're golden. The only thing I disliked about the class was the group projects. Also, in honors, she will require that you go out and do volunteer hours.

She's cool. Average in every single way. Not too hard, not too easy. Not too boring, not too exciting. Not too nice, not too mean. She's cool and she's whatever. I enjoyed her class, and enjoyed her as a professor. She wants you to do well and is a nice person. I liked her and she did a great job as a professor. Very real person. I like her a lot.

Prof. Dowden was cool. I hardly listened to her lectures, but make sure to do all the assignments on Revel and show up to class. She has in-class assignments that are easy points you don't want to miss. Show up to class and do all your assignments on time. You will get an A! She gives extra credit too, DO IT!

Took Soc 101 i thought the class was going to be a usual but it wasnt you have to read and take quizes on revel weekly worth 100 points. you also have 3 in class exams worth 60 points each and other in class participation points weekly. I missed alot of class so i missed alot of points. She does give alot of extra credit tho. Be prepared to work

She's a tedious grader on essays. I took AP Literature and AP Language in HS, and I have never gotten a grade lower than an A- on papers; in this course she gave me a D on my first paper, and she expects essays to follow her opinions. Only gives 10 points of EC, even though she gives eight 5-point EC options (she's dumb like that). Don't take her.

She is OKAY. She grades way too hard on her essays. She expects us to write and think just like her. We can't think for ourselves, otherwise our grade was adversely effected. Overall, her class was easy but very tedious, and again, the essays were just whack. Kind lady though.

Took this class for Honors credit over the summer. We had to do homework quizzes online almost every day and it was very time consuming. The tests were not accumulative & she gives you study guide for them. There were also 3 essays, 1 group & indiv. project. She gives rubrics for each but she docks you points for the smallest things.

Excellent professor. Love her lectures, she does it all in power point so much easier to learn and study. She uses etudes which helps a lot. EXCELLENT CLASS!
