Comment:

One of the worst prof ever at Pace. In his class you won't learn much. He uses his own text book (yea, he writes it himself). the text book is not well organized and does fly everywhere between chapters, just like his class. His English is poor and very hard to understand. He does not explain and when you ask him questions, he takes it personally

Comment:

A computer science Prof who doesn't email. And makes the course dead easy, as long as you can breath and write a cheat sheet you'll do fine. That said, algorithms is a core concept that should be taken seriously and taught as such, not a trivial area where highschool level antics are allowed. This was for the Master s program.

Cha is a pretty good professor if you ask for help he will be more than happy to help. Grades on a huge curve thought I was getting a C ended up with a B!

Comment:

Great guy. It's cliche, but he makes Algorithms fun. The paper's really all that matters for your grade. Be enthusiastic about it and you'll be rewarded. Things he could work on: his lectures skip around a lot. He had some material typos in his HWs. He can be slow to respond to emails (frustrating). Nonetheless, would surely take class again.

Not helpful at all and actually very rude if you visit him during office hours to clarify any concepts. He will ask for notes of the class and he will try to guilt trip students to believe that the fact they dont understand a concept is their fault and not anything lacking in his teaching skills

Professor Cha does not provide help on material when you go to his office hours. When I came to his office hours with my math textbook to get help on a problem, he told me the only way he will help me with the problem is if I bring lecture notes. In addition, when you send an email to him asking about office hours for that day he ignores you.

Comment:

Really nice guy. Always there to help you. Wants you to get an A and will help you get there with extra assignments if needed. Really lenient with grades - cares more about showing work than giving the right answer on exams. Textbook is used A LOT. The homework assignments are sort of confusing at times and require a lot of worktime.

Good Professor, the exam are not easy if you don't study. If he provided more class examples when teaching math it would have been better. Its a good challenging course and getting an A shouldn't be difficult if you follow the textbook and the formulas. Would take him again.

I vow never to take any of his classes again. He cannot teach, period. I got the lowest grade in the CS Graduate Program from him. His teaching method is an absolute disgrace. If anyone can avoid him, I strongly recommend they do. I wish I had that option.

This class is hard at first but he is a good professor and is willing to help his students do well. The grading curve is great and you're allowed to use cheat sheets on his exams so it makes the class easier.

Professor Cha is extremely intelligent and knows Computer Science thoroughly that said, the people that downrate him aren't cut out for CS. You have to try because he does not hand out grades for people who sleep in class or who don't try. The amount of effort you have to put forth only grows after 113.

Horrible professor!! Do not take him if you have no knowledge of the subject before hand. This professor just assumes you know stuff even though this is a introductory class. I am an A student but had a hard time following him because he is really confusing and hard. I regret taking this class.

Not NEARLY as bad as people are making him out to be. He was never late, always responded to e-mails promptly, has a good sense of humor, he's kind and fair. Sure, he has an accent that can be a little difficult to understand at times, but if you pay attention and don't mess around all class, you can get by with an A with little problem. Great guy!

I don't knw what everyone is talking about, Cha is a fantastic professer, most of these ratings must be based on the CIS class, which is mantitory but is boring as hell. In coputer programming he is super nice, funny, really helpful, alittle to to understand, and really energetic. For programming I strongly suggest you have him as a teacher.

One of the worst professors I have ever had. Incomprehensible, rude, and unclear. Dont bother asking him a question, he will just smile blankly, shake his head and go "Yes! Yes!". He takes weeks to reply to emails, and instead of answering questions, directs you to blackboard. He refuses to make time for his students. Its like he cant be bothered.

Impossible to understand anything he says. Use defunked technology to demonstrate ideas he never teaches. Has to grade on such a large curve that he should just give everyone a passing grade for showing up.
