Comment:

She is a wonderful professor. The students who want spoon fed information who can regurgitate it in a test should not study with her because she is teaching a way to think and analyze on your own. I took two courses with her including legal writing and she prepared me for law school and law review. Thank you.

Dwyer-Schick has absolutely no clarity or consistence to her class. Her expectations are confusing. I learned nothing about writing. The focus of the class was to improve writing, not to have her lecture us about the meaning of justice daily. You can't finish tests in allotted time even though we only two. Never returns homework. Might be retiring?

Worst overall professor at PLU. If you want to be a legal studies minor, think long and hard about it because it's probably not going to be worth it. She feeds you crap every class period and has really hard tests because you only have an hour. Does not accept other points of view. You don't NEED to take this class. Avoid the pain and suffering!

Avoid this professor at all costs. I was warned but proceeded anyways, and I regret every waking moment of it. She is strict on attendance, yet often did not show up for class herself. She rambles about useless things. I literally sat in class for an hour and she did not teach me or the class anything. Watch irrelevant videos. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS

she was rediculously horrible!! she is so hard, to the point where everything she talks about in class is irrelevant to the test.... and speaking of her tests they are SO rediculous - you will not get an A... or even a B... SAVE YOUR GPA and AVOID her like the plague!!

As another con law student who saw this prof for what she was, I must surmise the sole good review is either her or one of her few "pet students." For everyone else, grading and evaluative standards changes weekly and her test requirements are indecipherable. She is also cynical to the point of depressing. Very hard to approach and cold to students

I had her for Intro & Con law!! Amazing! I apprecieated her intellect as well as her abilty to push me into being a more critical thinker. Her tests are killer, but I think my hard work really paid off. One of PLU's finest!

The other reviews are right, this prof. is the worst at PLU. She is so bad that most of the POLI sci department have put parts of her two last names together and refer to her as the "DICK." Seriously, I cannot overemphasize how much her classes are bad for anyone who doesn't want to be poisoned against law school.

I was going to be a Legal Studies Minor until I realized she was the primary prof. for it. She is the 2nd worst prof. at PLU. She is rude to her students and belittles them when they have questions, and her grading standards are schizophrenic. She does not understand the English language or modern grammar and will grade you down for holding to it.

I had no background is Pol. Sci. but she did everything to help me out. I felt like she was very easy to talk to about issues in class. Unlike the most PLU history profs she kepts her personal views out of the classroom!!

D.S. is one of PLUs worst professors. Her lectures are unorganized, her teaching makes no sense, and she does not care for her students. Avoid her at all costs, she will make you not want to major in Political Science, which besides her is a good department. Sadly, she scared me away. Avoid!
