Suzanne is great! She knows a lot, but she also expects a lot from her students. I think the course load is a little too much considering I'm also taking my seminar this semester. I feel like I'm doing more work for her than my thesis. Readings can be dense and she is specific with her grading.EXPECT TO READ, WRITE, AND WORK FOR YOUR GRADES!

Comment:

Passionate, intelligent and excited about everything she teaches. She is a tough grader, but puts enough into her teaching to deserve quality work in return from her students. A lot of reading, time consuming, but participating in the class will definitely contribute towards making you a more educated and informed human being.

Take this course if you are interested in feminism, and this prof if you want a fun class with fair grading. She is great and down to earth as a person and very pretty as well. You must do the readings to pass the course, however.

I'd say the only problem with the class that i had this semester was the quizzes. They started it this semester (Spring '09) and they were just so annoying. But overall, i absolutely loved the class and this professor made it seem so much fun because the discussions were very intriguing and interesting. Take a class with her whenever you can.

I did not enjoy the course as much as others did but I think she is an amazing person. Her grading on papers is a little weird but she will let you rewrite them if you discuss it with her. She is great at presenting ideas to the class & encourages everyone to state their opinion but is rather opinionated herself. She is very helpful & intelligent.

AMAZING TEACHER! never had to attend the lectures but go to the actual class like once a week n u'll b fine. you dont have to read ANYTHING... but when it comes time to the papers, u just have to skim and highlight the book. nothing more. she is so easy and she will let you rewrite your paper as many times as you want for a better grade.DEF TAKE HE

Had her for women, love and sex. Wowww. she's so cool. she knows a lot and leads good class discussions. she's one of those women you listen to and you're like "i wanna be like her." Class material was awesome and i loved the reading for this class. it's 10-40 pages of reading per week but it's all mad interesting.

Usually a pretty nice professor. She leads some good class discussions and you can tell she's passionate about women's studies. My one complaint is that she's unnecessarily harsh and unfair when grading papers. She doesn't even bother to tell you what she's looking for. But this is a pretty interesting class, I would recommend it.

class isnt so bad. she grades kinda harsh on the essays but you can rewrite them each once and once you get the hang of them its alright. she isnt very clear in her guidelines and you can tell shes slightly biased as well. she took attendance only when she remembered which was kinda annoying but its not a big deal if you miss a few here and there!

Kelly is the most inconsistent grader i have come across.she never tells you what she is looking for in a paper. However, she does allow you to re-write it once.I just wish she was less harsh when she marks up papers or give us clear directions. Discussions were interesting, a little bias, but intelligent. I do think she grades harder than the other profs in this course, but not too unreasonably. Kelly is great at guiding the class discussions in interesting and thought provoking directions. This course was so eye-opening I encourage anybody to take it.
