This professor grades essays harshly. She goes esay on new students and more harshly on former students that took her class. Her essays are 5-7 pages and she criticized on the papers. The comment on the essay are not help. Do not take her!

Such a pleasure to have as a professor! She is very considerate and is always willing to help. She requires blogs weekly, and gives a thorough guideline for the paper she assigns. I never once had a moment of not liking the course, and she always provides all that she can for her students to succeed. Take her if you have the opportunity!!

she''s a great teacher very straight to the point. some of her readings where lengthy and you had to read in order to do well on the essays. there were two essays and one research paper no test midterm or final. she gives great feedback and really cares. no reason to fail the course.

Since English is not my major, I found this class to be rather difficult. She decided to change the formatt of the three papers from 2 essays and 1 research paper, to 3 research papers. Also if you do not like Victorian novels, do not take this class, there's about 6-7 books required. I also found the professor to be a little rude towards me

Professor Schaffer is very helpful and intelligent. The reading assignments she gives are reasonable in length and the amount of time she gives to complete them is fair. I learned more in her class than any other.

she is such a great teacher. i can't say she's easy but her class is really interesting and she is extremely, and i have to stress extremely helpful. she's a fair grader and likes to make you think. she did give 3 papers and a final but i would recommend.

She is probably the most dedicated, accessible, knowledgeable and enthusiastic prof. I have ever known. She is available through email, telephone and her office hours. The class was well organized she had clear expectations. She is a wonderful prof.!
